Garyble - I think that is my point.

If they sell now and short it - they can buy back at 0.8p through the rights issue and make a guaranteed 50% profit.

If they sell (short) now and the rights issue fails - they would be able to buy on the open market at less than 0.8p as the sp collapsed making (say) 100% profit.

BUT - they all seem to be holding - so they must know something and therefore be expecting the sp to rise above 1.2p thus making more than 50%.

Does that make sense?

greekman - 25 Oct 2006 14:22 - 21830 of 27111

Alan,

Good find re the ASDA compost own waste issue. This will show other supermarkets that ASDA look like leading the way in an attempt for zero waste.
The race is hotting up. As the article is in the public domain, I will post it on a competitors site. Giving credit to the initial poster obviously.

Tonyrelaxes - 25 Oct 2006 15:14 - 21831 of 27111

I can see a compost problem in the making - too much of he stuff! LOL

bristlelad - 25 Oct 2006 18:04 - 21832 of 27111

tony you can NEVER have TOO much of COMPOST ?? it like money you cannot have too much?OR HAVE YOU THAT WHY YOU,VE LENT SOME TO POOR OL, SEO/

garyble - 25 Oct 2006 18:15 - 21833 of 27111

BH1910,

Of the three options you've presented there's only the one that is indicative on an insti having a positive perspective and that is to Hold and plough new money into their offer.

The only other option would be to short it with the belief that it is doomed to failure.

bhunt1910 - 25 Oct 2006 19:54 - 21834 of 27111

I think we are violently agreeing??/

Worrier - 25 Oct 2006 21:06 - 21835 of 27111

Can someone please confirm to me if the SEO directors are taking up their full entitlements or have made any additional investment since the open offer was announced? I might be inclined to follow them
Worried

Tonyrelaxes - 25 Oct 2006 21:20 - 21836 of 27111

Worrier
The only two directors who held shares (as opposed to options or in a family trust) have declares maximum take-up according to the Prospectus. They are Lovegrove and ANR (no paperwork here to supplement my my poor memory). I think it totalled about 0.6% of the Issued Capital.
No big deal.

Worrier - 25 Oct 2006 21:21 - 21837 of 27111

Thanks Tony, No record of Ian Balchin as far as anyone aware?

Mad Pad - 25 Oct 2006 21:23 - 21838 of 27111

Worrier ,with what they hopefully know that would be insider trading so in my opinion it would be unlikely that any directors would have bought recently ,also I have seen no reports of any selling.

Worrier - 25 Oct 2006 21:33 - 21839 of 27111

That would make sense MP. I asked the question about directors and why they weren't buying a month ago when the price was at a "bargain" 4p or so.....they would have known then what was being touted around for the placing and at what price. Should have followed my instincts then, sold and repurchased

Worried

Tonyrelaxes - 25 Oct 2006 21:33 - 21840 of 27111

The ANOther may well have been Balchin. I just cannot remember and am currently about 4,000 miles from my papers and don''t propose returning home to look itup as I have a dinner date at Oblobov (!) tomorrow evening.
It is in the Prospectus - traceable through SEO website (again I don't intend looking it up as it is well past midnight here and I am about to crash out ;-))

I agree with MadPad - no directors dealings reported for months - possibly years.
There is just a chance that director(s) are among those who agreed to take up shares in the original 'firm' placing. Not reportable as yet as not completed - that will be after the EGM on Monday week. I'll be home for that firework party!!.

Mad Pad - 25 Oct 2006 21:36 - 21841 of 27111

Anyone going to the EGM ?Maybe a little light lunch and de-brief after?Tony you must know a good watering hole nearby, please suggest a venue.Names please on a postcard, bring your own rotten tomatoes(compostable only please) and pertinant questions!

Tonyrelaxes - 25 Oct 2006 21:49 - 21842 of 27111

I'll get the motorbike out and have a look round next week for a suitable place.

No doubt there wll be a large contingent going. I suggest a list is prepared in advance and approximate numbers from this BB be forwarded to them so there will be enough chairs.

To save BHunt the task this time I'll do it. But perhaps he might print name labels as that is way beyond my quill pen. Name labels help us identify each other afterwards.

Names please if you expect to attend...

oblomov - 26 Oct 2006 07:32 - 21843 of 27111

Tony,

приятного аппетита в прекрасном ресторане, названном в моей чести и помнит меня официанту Захару!

bhunt1910 - 26 Oct 2006 07:50 - 21844 of 27111

Tony - I plan to attend - yes will do labels for us & yes it was Balchin

hewittalan6 - 26 Oct 2006 07:53 - 21845 of 27111

Baza, I will not be able to make it........please find out whether I owe Oblo a pint, or vice versa ;-)
Alan

bhunt1910 - 26 Oct 2006 07:55 - 21846 of 27111

Alan - will do

Oilywag - 26 Oct 2006 08:07 - 21847 of 27111

Needless to say that I will be attending.

And am happy to collect and co-ordinate the questions to put to the board.

Make them as blunt as you like.

The oily one

hewittalan6 - 26 Oct 2006 08:17 - 21848 of 27111

Oily,
You could make suggestions to improve the quality of the board. My suggestions include;
Marketing and quality control - Gerald Ratner
Environment - Jeremy Clarkson
Finance - Norman Lamont
PR consultant - George W Bush
IT - My 98 year old maiden aunt
They would all improve SEO's performance in their respective fields.
Alan
