THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

I have a lot of Italian friends and almost every one voted Burlesconi. The people see him as a strong leader. The government has accepted that their constitution has to change. Weak governments prevent needed legislation from being passed.

Burlesconi has tried to make some infrastructure improvements such a new tunnel under the Alps and bridge across the straights of Messina to Sicily. Each time a new coalition comes in they cancel all the projects. When Burlesconi gets in again he starts them again.

Manuel.

That's democracy for you.

Hays,

Says a bit about your choice of friends.

Don't forget that Burlesconi got 29% of the vote, almost the same as the other main party. Like or not, Burlesconi is very popular. I was in an Italian restaurant the other day with some Italian friends. We watched Italian TV and there were interviews with people about Burlesconi. Even old women were supporters of him. The general tone was that he might have a few personal failings, but he was the best man for the job. The surprising thing is that Burlesconi is extremely popular in the Milan area. This area is closer to the mainstream EU style of things and has the most sophisticated electorate in Italy.

Lauren,

Britain also remember that Britain and the Allies renegaded on their promises to the Free Polish at the end of WW2 which led to their subjugation by the USSR.

(Unfortunately, it seems it was inevitable.)

Also, I "think" from some of Manuel's posting he was born in the UK.

Is one responsible for the sins of you ancestors?

But, I agree with you, Manuel does seem a sad individual.

TANKER - 26 Feb 2013 12:28 - 21864 of 81564

he is a better leader than cameron

Fred1new - 26 Feb 2013 12:29 - 21865 of 81564

I have always thought of Cameron and the Englishman's Burlesconi.

ahoj - 26 Feb 2013 12:30 - 21866 of 81564

I agree with Tanker.

hilary - 26 Feb 2013 12:37 - 21867 of 81564

I agree with Nick.

Fred1new - 26 Feb 2013 12:50 - 21868 of 81564

Sorry, I made a mistake.

The next leader of the tory party may be:

or will it be another comedian :

Noticed Winnies softened his stance on SEFGATE this morning. Seems to be saying its more about spin and accuracy now of RNS reports.

Pity he wasnt so forthcoming and accurate with me refering to his re-domicile in the Isle Of Man.

That bloke has one set of rules for himself and another for everyone else.

PS.........cyners is this legaly ok to state? TIA.

cynic - 26 Feb 2013 13:55 - 21873 of 81564

i'm not a lawyer lol! ..... however, you are now posting about TW rather than SER .... sounds to me that TW has had a sharp warning from his own lawyer and is now trying to back himself out of corner ..... if so, SER will want a lot more than that to drop their case, as from the quick skate-through that i had, TW didn't mince his words one little bit and nor was there any room for any misunderstanding or misinterpretation

goldfinger - 26 Feb 2013 14:03 - 21874 of 81564

Cheers cyners, so I take its ok.

Yep I got the distinct impression he had softened his approach first thing this morning. Even talking about post SEFGATE, if he loses the case.

Fred1new - 26 Feb 2013 14:29 - 21875 of 81564

I can recall all of Tankers' tips, but watched CNA and a bank share he tipped. They did well. Noticed that they tended to have high yields and period leading up to results or Div.

Relatively safe generally, but AV.

Generally, ignored anything like a tip from Manuel so wouldn't compare.

cynic - 26 Feb 2013 14:31 - 21876 of 81564

i'm so deeply hurt
