Renesola - want to see huge growth ? Look no further !! (SOLA)

whatuwant - 21 Aug 2006 13:28

Read the latest interims.......just make sure that you are sitting down.

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=SOLA&S

cynic - 29 Jan 2008 08:57 - 2189 of 3050

reined in my greed and took profit at 344 ..... Peter - will be interesting to see if 340 snaps; seems disinclined to for the moment

ptholden - 29 Jan 2008 08:59 - 2190 of 3050

Quite early yet Richard, 340 ish has been the Bid more or less since open, the spread has closed significantly since the early deals.

goldfinger - 29 Jan 2008 12:12 - 2191 of 3050

$119 million to be raised and underwrittten, but the company were looking for $200 million from reports in the press, in other words 59 million raised but were looking for 100 million a shortfall of 41 million which will not go down well with the US traders.

Wheres the additional funding coming from now given that it was imho an emergency situation dressed up in the first place.

goldfinger - 29 Jan 2008 12:14 - 2192 of 3050

Total of $119 million underwritten, and not $130 million, see post above.

and as for trading at a huge discount, throw in the dilution of

bonds 10%

employee scheme 7%

and now this defunked IPO 17% and the total prospective dilution is

a grand total of 34%.

Dont have to tell you how this will now affect the P/E ratio going forward.

Watching initial reaction on the Dow.

cynic - 29 Jan 2008 12:59 - 2193 of 3050

cannot disagree with you GF, though equally sp has stayed stubbornly above PTH's assessed support of 340

sivad - 29 Jan 2008 14:28 - 2194 of 3050

Never try to outguess the outguessable-the dilution may be totally overlooked in the wider picture-a green way of producing energy.

Was it not MLSB who came in with a price target of 8-I dont see them changing their stance anywhere.

cynic - 29 Jan 2008 14:56 - 2195 of 3050

you keep filling your boots then m8! .... btw, you may like to reflect on MLSB's last set of figures!

sivad - 29 Jan 2008 15:23 - 2196 of 3050

cynic-post them

cynic - 29 Jan 2008 15:26 - 2197 of 3050

don't have them, but from memory they werer a total disaster ..... anyway, have just re-shorted here albeit with stop at about 355

cynic - 30 Jan 2008 15:10 - 2198 of 3050

but i do have a successful short running on SOLA! ..... sp teased above the critical 340 level but has now plunged to 315 ..... perhaps the Americans have not been bamboozled by these scallywags, who no doubt think/thought they were a bunch of suckers!

sivad - 31 Jan 2008 15:11 - 2199 of 3050

Bit harsh dont you think cynic-well I guess money to be made in both directions then!

cynic - 31 Jan 2008 17:00 - 2200 of 3050

why harsh? ...... if Dow closes high, which it may well do (but thought that last night too!) then yes i prob shall close my position, for the (short term) trend in london may well change, dragging the likes of SOLA in its wake

ptholden - 31 Jan 2008 19:29 - 2201 of 3050

Just been having a look at the SOLA chart, I may have identified a previous trendline (down) which has been used by the SP on numerous occasions as both support and resistance, it's the turn of support once more and for the next few days that support is at 300p. Obviously cos it's a downtrend the support reduces on a day by day basis. There may also be a parallel trendline 'partner' which if correct will channel the SP south during the coming months with a max SP of 400p. Interestingly should the lower trendline fail, next stop is 200p!!

AIMHO of course and any TA changes on a day by day basis.

BigTed - 01 Feb 2008 09:53 - 2202 of 3050

Am tempted to short now 320 hasn't held, but shall sit on sidelines and watch...

cynic - 01 Feb 2008 10:14 - 2203 of 3050

as always Peter, many thanks for your input ..... am happy to leave my short in place, not least because sp has tracked firmly south again, despite a very strong general market

goldfinger - 01 Feb 2008 11:05 - 2204 of 3050

I woulsnt take any notice of MLs buy note.

From what ive heard the original analyst who told investors to buy at up to 8 just days prior to the last profits warning when it collapsed to 196p was taken off the job and another analyst put in his place.

I wouldnt mind but ML actualy came out with a general note on small caps and warned investors off of buying.

Im staying short.

cynic - 01 Feb 2008 12:01 - 2205 of 3050

morning GF ..... i remain short and very happily so too ..... sp has already moved quite substantially against the general market trend, and if US employment whack the Dow, then why would SOLA not fall further - except perhaps for the influence of some bear closing before w/e

goldfinger - 01 Feb 2008 13:26 - 2206 of 3050

Indeed, indeed cyners.

goldfinger - 02 Feb 2008 02:32 - 2207 of 3050

Closed out earlier on. Solar sector may be due a bounce next week.

Still very bearish on sola for the long term.

cynic - 02 Feb 2008 08:23 - 2208 of 3050

i did too GF .... only a modest 16p profit this time, but welcome nevertheless ...... was very surprised indeed to see strength in US last night but find it hard to trust or believe that it can hold ..... in fact Dow is now very close to the chart-critical level of 12800 and would be amazed if it blazed straight through that
