Queen and Country (BABE)

Sponsor Your Queen and Country

BABE Rally 2007 - From BA (Big Apple) to BE (Big Easy), a total drive of 1500 miles in four days on the east coast of the USA, in a banger yank tank that has to cost less than $250.

In a moment of madness, Martini and Gausie have entered a team - "Queen and Country", the entry has been accepted, and so long as we can get all of the prelims in place, at the end of May we'll be setting off from New York with "New Orleans or bust" ringing loudly in our ears.

In case you're wondering, we'll start with Martini as Queen (Gausie will be Cunt-ry) and we'll swap over every now and again.

We'll be raising money for Save The Children, and hopefully, in due course, some of you guys will dig deep.

We're planning on getting a car in late April and flying out a week early to prepare it for the journey - which is at the end of May.

We'll be looking for a car with acres and acres of metal and rust, a decent set of brakes, an engine and gearbox that stands a chance of getting us 1500 miles, and a very loud stereo. We've decided that an open top is mandatory - even if we have to take a cutter to a saloon. A custom paintjob is planned, given sufficient time.

I don't normally donate money to charity as I give quite a bit of my time to various local charities. I will make a donation under gift aid, - but I need to think how much over 1.00 I'll donate. ;-) ?????

Big Al - 30 Mar 2007 20:32 - 33 of 269

This is going to sound pretty bad, but I've got the same trouble a Treble - can't make a donation from the house!!! ;-(((

Will have to return to work and try there. Strangely enough I can't access all my internet banking from home, but can from work. Hmm.

MightyMicro - 31 Mar 2007 18:24 - 34 of 269

It's the Scottish Internet obviously ;-)

Martini - 03 Apr 2007 16:21 - 35 of 269

Hey ticking up nicely.

Gausie I am beginning to suspect that there is an element of " With any luck we won't ever see the pair of them again with this out burst of generosity!"

Many thanks to Biker, mg, Mr Euro and Linda.

Big Al - 03 Apr 2007 17:51 - 36 of 269

Managed to get in and donate tonight - Scottish internet back on, MM.

Quick Treb, dust off that card. I know it never sees the light of day normally. ;-))

Martini - 04 Apr 2007 13:53 - 37 of 269

Many thanks Al.

Gausie - 05 Apr 2007 12:30 - 38 of 269

Philip

Thanks again for your very generous donation. Am gobsmacked!

I understand that save the children will be using it to provide deprived chavlets with haute couture .....

:-)

Boyse - 05 Apr 2007 12:42 - 39 of 269

Big Al - 05 Apr 2007 12:42 - 40 of 269

Gausie - 05 Apr 2007 13:09 - 41 of 269

>>Big Al

You're way too well read!

>>Docproc

AJB has been in touch and asks after you. He also suggested you might want to sponsor me to visit McDonalds whilst I'm out there....
