THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

It was not funny dc - I have gone months surving on one and a half hours sleep a night and permanently dithering like a jelly. However things are better thanks to a friend who was so concerned she threatened me, either they sort me out or she would send for someone. My Dr. has promised he won't mess with my medication again - thank God. Blood pressure was 210 over 80 something and has calmed down now after two weeks taking some other form of medication. One does not know how ill one is or has been until feeling human again. Thanks anyway.

Go to bed Tanker and think to yourself 'would you care what nationality a nurse, doctor or carer was, washing your bum, seeing to bed sores, gangarine or admistrating drugs to you so long as you got better' or in the worst case senario they helped relieve your or any loved ones pain. I would not think so - there are decent, caring human being out there. Get a life please.

dreamcatcher - 04 Mar 2013 21:20 - 22107 of 81564

Night, night 3m

Fred1new - 04 Mar 2013 22:37 - 22112 of 81564

I seem to have woken you lot up, it must be time for the nurse to give you all another sedative each and tuck you in for the night.

As far as increasing taxation on the rich is concerned, as long as they are moderate, I would doubt that many would flee the country, after all who would want out of work unsuccessful bankers and the like.

Even in the States members of this group of individuals are becoming unemployable due to lack of needed skills and lack of jobs.

Let them go.

Where to? Europe is increasing regulations on tax evasions, and even Zurich joining in.

The states will get round to doing the same. They are considering Europe more important than the UK already.

Personal information is becoming more and more available to the tax man and everybody else.

Data bank’s on cash and its movements are becoming easier to access and trace.

Also, more people prepared to reveal the information.

-------

The responses by some remind me of an owner of company, who in his office had on the wall opposite him when he sat at his desk, a little poster with the following words written on it:-

“Whoever thinks them self indispensable, should put their finger in a bowl of water and notice the hole it leaves when they take it out.”

He said that he read it to himself every morning when he sat at his desk. Also, he said that he asked anyone who sat opposite him and threatened to resign, or give notice, to turn round and read the notice, before they started negotiating.

I think many people in this country overvalue themselves and consider themselves to be far more important than they actually are.

But, that is just another’s opinion.

Dreams. Sleep tight, but try not to get up on the wrong side.

It is bad for you!

Ps. I am still working on my qualifications.

Think you should start to acquire some for your self.

DC,

I like dreams and try to remember :
---------------

We are such stuff
As dreams are made on; and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.

Vietnam to ban short, fat traffic police in Hanoi

HANOI: Short, pot-bellied policemen will be banned from traffic duty in Vietnam's capital Hanoi and given office jobs in a bid to improve the force's public image, police said Wednesday.

Details of the new height and weight restrictions were not available but the head of Hanoi's traffic police said they were working on a list of cops who didn't measure up and would be redeployed out of sight.
