Easynet (ESY)

proptrade - 22 Jan 2004 11:27

i was wondering if anyone out there had any strong views? this company appears to be delivering and has just turned EBITA positive after a great trading statement last week. seems like upside to +200p once results are out.

any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.

From today's Telegraph online:

"On Aim, broadband provider Pipex Communications rose 0.37p to 8.37p on heavy turnover of 16.7m shares. Dealers speculated the group will announce a tie-up with business telecoms provider Easynet, pegged at 105p."

not sure what this means but sounds good. trading statement out this month. i have a very good feeling about the contents and prospective future of ESY.

must admit prop, I am very tempted to have my first top up whilst things are quiet

Prop I don't suppose when the trading results are coming out do you?

proptrade - 10 Jan 2005 11:09 - 226 of 602

all i know is that it is in Jan. It would be likely to be this week or next and my advise would be that if you want to take a position on the long side and feel as i do about the company then i would look to get in now ahead of the announcement.

the obvious risk is that with the meteoric rise recently the mkt is expecting a very solid statement. anything short of that could see the stock pull back a little.

My view is that the statement will exceed expectations but please please dyor.

Thanks for that Prop. I am already holding some of this stock. I like you do believe that ESY will certainly be a major player in the coming months.

slight concerns over 'positive broker comments' with no response in sp- I think they like us are waiting for news update.

proptrade - 10 Jan 2005 11:57 - 229 of 602

lizard...these things are up roughly 30% in the last few weeks! have faith sir.

the comments are all waiting to be reiterated after the update and the fact is that if this pause in the price is just a step to a new level that would be the perfect price action because 105ish would act as a new support level.

lizard - 11 Jan 2005 09:49 - 230 of 602

those 'positive' broker comments done the trick then!

Chrispine - 11 Jan 2005 10:00 - 231 of 602

Grrrr.. what on earth is with the stocks these days. Its proving so difficult to trade sensibly these days when good news is recieved with negative actions. I guess I will have to sit on another loss for the time being for no real reason.

proptrade - 11 Jan 2005 10:13 - 232 of 602

i don't know whats happening here apart from maybe the buyers are set and now waiting for the trading statement.

this tends to shake the tree and a few nervous punters may offload into the waiting arms of the mm's. there is no news out so this is just speculation. as far as i am concerned, a great rns will see this back to 110 and momentum may lift them higher.

this is a classic case of a lull waiting for news. a couple of sell orders in a thin market will see the reaction today...

lets just wait and see.

lizard - 11 Jan 2005 10:58 - 233 of 602

no support at all at 100p-

proptrade - 11 Jan 2005 11:23 - 234 of 602

i am not surprised at all. support would be at around 96. this stock will end the day at 100 or 96. it tends to have a wide spread and at the moment, with news pending, anything can happen.

over the course of the year these will power ahead. intra day stuff is not overly to relevant to my own personal trading strategy.

lizard - 11 Jan 2005 11:27 - 235 of 602

perhaps should have bought easy jet-

proptrade - 11 Jan 2005 11:39 - 236 of 602

i know, i was so frustrated missing that one near 120p. ho hum.

ESY buyers emerging!

proptrade - 11 Jan 2005 11:58 - 237 of 602

99-100 now and a buyer of 50/- just went through

proptrade - 11 Jan 2005 12:10 - 238 of 602

100p bid. maybe there is support there!

capa - 11 Jan 2005 12:15 - 239 of 602

proptrade - 11 Jan 2005 12:46 - 240 of 602

sensible. should make for an interesting week or two.

i am convinced that if the statement is as positive as we are hoping then momentum will drive them for a few days. 130 soon??

capa - 12 Jan 2005 15:09 - 241 of 602

here we go. Trading statement tomorrow perhaps ?
