Priscilla
13p happy birthday!

Priscilla - 14 Jan 2005 21:29 - 22411 of 23498

Yep, I thought you'd like that present. Great 2-day rise to an all-time high! Have a lovely birthday evening and have a glass of champagne or two. It goes very well with sherry trifle!

Spaceman - 14 Jan 2005 21:30 - 22412 of 23498

Just woken up and seen the litle bundle of metal and wire has made its way down to the surface of Titan. It travelled 2.2 billion miles and is now about 1.4 billion miles away. ESA has posted this first picture from the probe landing03_L.jpg

Spaceman - 14 Jan 2005 21:35 - 22413 of 23498

ESA have just posted another picture from titan :-

Socrates - 14 Jan 2005 22:54 - 22417 of 23498

Opto
Yes, I am still here. I'll open another bottle of VC, Priscilla seems to have emptied the other one. The cafe flutes are rather nice, I wonder if GD would miss a couple when the cafe changes ownership?

Morning folks, finally managed to get out of the cupboard, sorry about the broken door, somebody must have accidentally bolted it while I was lurking.Surprised nobody heard me shouting for help. Got home eventually to an 18 hour power cut....Happy belated birthday.I'll give a hand washing up then a
quick coffee and off to work in the drizzle-have a good weekend.

Socrates - 15 Jan 2005 10:21 - 22425 of 23498

Good morning all. How delightful to see friends in the cafe so early on a Saturday morning. Thanks to everyone for their birthday greetings, most appreciated. Still not feeling 100% though, it must be this flu/cold bug that is doing the rounds but I mustn't let it get me down. I can still manage a FEB and large mug of tea.

I see that SuperDoorRepairMan has been in and fixed the door already, very quick off the mark that one, virtually instant. Big question, will I win the lottery today? Answers on the back of a 20 note to Socco at....................................Cheltenham.

optomistic - 15 Jan 2005 10:45 - 22426 of 23498

Morning Socs, pleased to see you are getting better....you must be if you are back on ther FEB's, enjoy your 'new' year. Soon be the next one :-(

Socrates - 15 Jan 2005 11:09 - 22427 of 23498

Optomistic

"Soon be the next one ".

Sooner than you think. Did you know that a result of that earthquake the earth is now spinning faster? The day is now shorter by 2.68 microseconds, don't blink, so birthdays will come around just that little bit quicker, by about 1000th of a second quicker in fact. Also, the North pole moved about 1" so if you go looking for it be careful, you might miss it.

optomistic - 15 Jan 2005 11:29 - 22428 of 23498

Socs the with North pole moving does that mean that runways will have to be re numbered? Can't have ILS landings missing the slot!

Socrates - 15 Jan 2005 11:43 - 22429 of 23498

I don't think the north pole has moved far enough yet to make that much difference. Mind you, could be fun when the poles flip again.
