Spaceman - 17 Jan 2005 13:37 - 22478 of 23498

Just got home, wish I hadnt the weather is gray cold and raining !

stockbunny - 17 Jan 2005 14:21 - 22479 of 23498

JeffMack - we think the virus came in via a games website, got
through Norton firewall/anti-virus etc, but the exact place where
it was acquired is not known as the root can't be traced at this time.
The only protection further to what we had I feel is to ban all
surfing and playing on games websites and possibly PS2 cheat sites.
Youngest son is not happy but feels rotten about it so will abide by
the new rules. Aside of that, it hasn't come in on an attachment,
downloading is already banned and music websites also and
there really isn't any other surfing done, it's all to sites like this
one that is unlikely to be infected.
We've just been unlucky I guess.

OK late lunch is available for anyone who's hungry :>)

Priscilla - 17 Jan 2005 14:29 - 22480 of 23498

Lemon Drizzle Cakes galore were taken from the oven a few minutes ago to cool and then be drizzled.......

Could somebody please put up the 'Welcome Home, Lambykins' poster up? My hands are a bit 'lemony'.

stockbunny - 17 Jan 2005 14:38 - 22481 of 23498

I'll do it now Priscilla - would he appreciate a fresh bowl of
spring greens and spinach if I can get them?

Priscilla - 17 Jan 2005 14:44 - 22482 of 23498

That's a lovely idea, Bunny. I'll wash out his bowl and put a fresh bottle of sancerre in the fridge so he can dine with wine. I hope he has some holiday snaps to make us all envious of his Aussie tan.

stockbunny - 17 Jan 2005 14:47 - 22483 of 23498

I'll see if we have some juicy dandelions out the back as well...
oh no on second thoughts we wont have as I remember making a salad
with them as a garnish on the weekend...oh well, spinach & spring greens
then it is! :>)

jj50 - 17 Jan 2005 14:53 - 22484 of 23498

Great to see you back, bunny! Welcome home Spaceman and Lambykins - see
Priscilla is pulling out all the stops with lemon drizzle galore.

Just been to dentist, so don't mention roots but a cup of lukewarm
tea would go down a treat!

Thought nothing would get through that Norton, Bunny as it keeps turning
my machine off if there is anything out there :-( Do they give any
guarantees!!!

jeffmack - 17 Jan 2005 14:56 - 22485 of 23498

Greetings

stockbunny - 17 Jan 2005 15:02 - 22486 of 23498

I know JJ - I'm stunned to be honest, I had great faith in Norton
and now I'm debating whether to shift firewall/virus protection provider
so if anyone's got a favourite let me know.
How's things with you JJ? Is everything dried out? Must be by now
I hope.

JeffMack in the legendary spirit of 'Bread' I'll respond with 'NEXT!'
;>)

hilary - 17 Jan 2005 15:15 - 22487 of 23498

I'd be surprised if it's Norton that's turning your machine off. It's more likely that it's getting a bit warm and the thermostat is causing it to turn off.

Is it a laptop? Is it next to any other equipment which might be blocking airflow? Have you tried hoovering the vent for the fan to get rid of any dust build-up?

jeffmack - 17 Jan 2005 15:20 - 22488 of 23498

You girls should be good at hoovering, its in the genes

stockbunny - 17 Jan 2005 15:57 - 22489 of 23498

I see JeffMack fancies a sparring match this afternoon.....
so I ask myself Am I in the mood to take on his provocative remarks
made in good humoured banter?
And I've decided Nah...So I'll just reach for my trusty soda syphon
and give him a quick SQUIRT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
;>)

stockbunny - 17 Jan 2005 16:23 - 22490 of 23498

OK happy people - I'm outta here, stuff to do.
Have a great evening :>)

jj50 - 17 Jan 2005 16:48 - 22491 of 23498

You too bunny!

Hilary, never thought of that, shall see if I can find a duster and
remember how to use the hoover and give it a go - or then again
I could ask jeffmack for advice on hoovering :-)) It is a laptop
and I have now cleared away all the paperwork from behind it
so shall see if that does the trick - thanks.

Socrates - 17 Jan 2005 16:57 - 22492 of 23498
