Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Brian,

Can you refresh the page and let me know if this makes any difference?

Ian

Terminal and in multiple panes - did a close/open window, logged on and now working ok. Don't understand logon as I was still logged on in other AM windows. Can't give you much more info except that network connection was really busy with lots of open stuff. Could it be a network connection timeout/rety problem (ie: memory not being free'd)?

BrianTrayda - 06 Jul 2004 15:52 - 2252 of 7315

Is the OutOfMemory error coming from client or server? (wanna check if it's me or not)

IanT(MoneyAM) - 06 Jul 2004 16:00 - 2253 of 7315

Brian,

It would have been from our server - Felix has confirmed that when a server gets to a lot of activity it will restart this is what you would have seen.

Let me know if it happens again,

Regards

Ian

Ian T,
Ref post 2240 , any thoughts yet? Still seeing problem on stockwatch, OOM cum currently under-reporting 6 million trades for example

IanT(MoneyAM) - 09 Jul 2004 09:37 - 2256 of 7315

SC,

I will take a look at this.

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 09 Jul 2004 09:40 - 2257 of 7315

SC,

I have crossed checked this on OOM and the cumulative vol appears to be correct where are you seeing the difference from?

Ian

STORMCALLER - 09 Jul 2004 10:11 - 2258 of 7315

IanT,
Buy and Sell columns on stockwatch currently show 426,979 & 7,144,502 ,
yet cum 1,770,294. This is the basis of my query re OOM, am I reading something wrong again?
Regards
SC

STORMCALLER - 12 Jul 2004 09:34 - 2259 of 7315

Yet again I am seeing stupid output on stockwatch volumes, where buy and sell do not equate to cumulative. Empirically, it appears the sources being used for the three reports are different, is there any way to achieve some level of consistency here please?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 12 Jul 2004 09:35 - 2260 of 7315

SC,

Can you give me a specific stock which you are looking at and I will take a look into this at this end.

Ian

SC<

I have just spoken to Mike on this and one of the reasons this may be happeing is that if there had been late trades gone through this morning they would not show in the cumulative total for the day - hence the cumulative totale when show as smaller.

I will take a look at some specific stocks however, and root out ones with late trades to see if this then adds up or to see if there is still a discrepency.

Thanks

Ian

IanT,
Old favourites again I am afraid, bt.a, oom, ctm.
I suspect that we are seeing SETS total in the cumulative, this does not reflect the sum of buy/sell shown on trades page, which seems to be the source for buy/sell in stockwatch.
Thanks

IanT(MoneyAM) - 12 Jul 2004 09:41 - 2263 of 7315

SC,

Thanks for that - Please see my reply above - I will take one of these stocks as my example and look back at the trades on it.

I will let you know.

Ian

STORMCALLER - 12 Jul 2004 09:44 - 2264 of 7315

IanT,
Didn't see your second post before I sent mine, I agree that may be part of the problem, saw 2mil late trade on trades page against ctm this morning about 07:20, would this mean there is no round this problem, the end result of this at the moment is that you see different figures depending which screen you look at, this is hardly satisfactory surely?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 12 Jul 2004 09:47 - 2265 of 7315

SC<

I will take a look at some of these stocks work out the differences and take a look and any possible resolution. This may take me a little while to do but I will keep you pasted.

Sorry to be a pain on this one, but inconsistency in data by definition renders it untrustworthy. As much as anything, it is a presentation issue, trades and stockwatch screens have same touch/feely about them, so it is sort of expected the result would be consistent. There is already the known problem of the "unknowns" if we then include another structural difficulty relating to lates, it becomes even more difficult. However at least if we know the reasons behind what is going on we can allow for it.
Thanks

Thansk SC,

I will get back to you.

Ian

BrianTrayda - 12 Jul 2004 10:01 - 2268 of 7315

Termial L2, load JRVS and medium display and small bold font, resize width (down) of window/pane to a certain point and a redraw loop starts and doesn't stop until pane is made wider (by window or pane).

IanT(MoneyAM) - 12 Jul 2004 10:02 - 2269 of 7315

BT,

This is odd - I will see if I can reproduce it at this end.
