THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Hilary
The oil production problem is further complicated by the fact that the oil is a finite resource. Typically, many oil producers prefer lower production at a higher price to increase the lifespan of their resource. Many OPEC producers resist increased production due to a downward influence on prices. The last thing they want is selling even more oil at lower prices. It is similar to the way that diamond sales and production are controlled by a cartel to maintain the price.

Is the answer 42?

skinny - 28 Mar 2013 14:15 - 22599 of 81564

Or maybe the Kursaal Flyers - little does she know that I know that she knows ..

cynic - 28 Mar 2013 14:23 - 22600 of 81564

leaving aside that Colditz Story was a highly fictionalised version of a true story, perhaps MrT can enlighten us all about this (alleged) polish informer and what happened to him

Haystack - 28 Mar 2013 14:24 - 22601 of 81564

Sometimes 42!

skinny - 28 Mar 2013 14:29 - 22602 of 81564

hilary - 28 Mar 2013 15:35 - 22606 of 81564

They saw you coming, Skinners. That stuff's only £3.00 a bottle in Lidl.... and the added anti-freeze is free!

skinny - 28 Mar 2013 15:38 - 22607 of 81564

Hils :-)

Harry - similar - deep thought ?

cynic - 28 Mar 2013 16:35 - 22608 of 81564

wine at £4.99 is about good enough for cooking and little else ...... i haven't done the maths, but the wine content must be barely 50p

skinny - 28 Mar 2013 16:38 - 22609 of 81564

Some will be used in 2 casseroles I'm making this weekend - but I'm sure I will indulge :-)

Its actually £12 in Tesco and Morrisons are limiting it to a tanker lorry per customer.

Haystack - 28 Mar 2013 16:57 - 22610 of 81564

Tesco is a great exponent of the double the price for a few weeks and then claim it is half price. There have been official complaints about their games, but they are fairly careful to stick to the letter of the law.

skinny - 28 Mar 2013 17:12 - 22611 of 81564

Currently £12 inTesco

HaHa, love em. Hi Everyone. Sorry I don't often post. but love to read your offering's.

Hi Tanker.

Cannot think of a simpler explanation

3 give £10 = "a" is now - £10, "b" - £10, "c" - £10. "a" take's the money and pays the £25

= "a" now has the £5 he has saved by paying £25 instead of £30. and the net cost to him is £10 less the £5 he has paid Therefore "a" is now - £5, b - £10 c - £10.

"a" Repays £1 to b, and $1 to c

= "a" is now - £7, "b" - £9, "c" = £9 (9+9+7 = The £25 spent).

Only thing wrong is they were not brothers. or even friends.

Q: Did you hear about the guy who died of a Viagra overdose?
A: They couldn't close his casket.

Q: What should you do if your girlfriend starts smoking?
A: Slow down. And possibly use a lubricant.

Q: What's worse than spiders on your piano?
A: Crabs on your organ.
