Bioprogress is a stock I have been in and out of quite a few times since it floated in May but not much mention here on the Investors' Room. Does anyone else follow this stock. I see it is up 1.5p today and a few good buyers seem to have appeared.

Let's wait and see. All should be made clear by 8th March. You either hold for the potential or you don't.

The dosh might be for the acquisition or, more expensively, the building from scratch, of a film plant in the USA.
Have recently bought my allocation of A and B warrants and now am holding on to my sizeable holding.

THE COUNT--->ALL
I was at the conference in Oxford where Graham Hind presented. Barry Muncaster, the ex CEO was also there.
The impression I got from talking to both is that they were supremely confident and promised a few surprises.
I know this story inside out anyway....not interested in the day to day movements on this one....only interested in its potential to hit 5 plus before I die hopefully, or to get taken out.
I have a massive cushion on my own stock so can afford to sit tight no matter what. Unfortunately many others got burned quite hard...but that's the name of the game. I feel sorry for them, but anyone who bought at up to 160p would get their money back and a lot more if they had the patience to hold out rather than sell out.
Playing these games of trying to call the top or the bottom always make me laugh. We hear about it only when people get it right and it is forgotten about when they get it invariably wrong. Good luck to you all however you play this game....I just don't have the patience to try and call 10% - 20% movements either way every other week....I get bored.
I'd much rather get 500% movements right every other year.....especially when holding a very large stake before the fun really starts. Now that's when you get a nice warm feeling in your loins!!!!
Have a nice weekend to y'all.

You too Count but its the market that'll determine the price not Mr Muncaster and a box of suprises.
Best thing they could do in the short term imo is plug the leaks.

What leeks?
You must have them on the brain boyo.
:-)
As I said, I'm totally relaxed about this....it's a great story in the making. One of the best, if not the best I've ever come across.
After raising all that money recently, I wonder what they could be raising money for this time...so shortly after the last fund raising. The mind boggles.....and the loins get warmer in anticipation. How can institutions be so prepared to support yet another funding round so close to the last one? Maybe, just maybe, there might be something interesting that the company have spotted that they want the money for.
Assuming that there is indeed a funding round....it could after all be just another bit of smelly bullshit.
I think I'm going to have me some leek soup tonight.

That's another issue that is unresolved - with Stanelco. Personally I wouldn't touch this share with a bargepole right now.

Dil - can I assume you have a large short on here? You appear every five minutes with funny stories about the company and why the market should sell it down. If it is charts you are reading, they tell one story only, the trend is UP since May 2003. How do you argue that black is white? More to the point, what importance do you attach to the idea that the company is "leaky". Surely that is a fundamental issue, not a technical one. I do agree though that chartists might refer to fundamentals if it helps justify a trade :)

Only had a position once and then only for a few hours Bones. To be honest I don't know anyone who is short or has been.
Regardless of this all I've done is air a few doubts that I have and also had a go at a few plonkers who I regard as going a bit ott.
Good luck Bones but my sources are not necessarily as bullish as yours , thats life.

You and I have not seen eye to eye on a few things recently.
But I am going to try and redress this a little. I hate to tip a share outright....I usually just post about what I am doing and why I am doing it, and where I think a share could be going in the medium term, and then leave it to people to make their own decisions accordingly.
But I think this story is awesome and I believe, in the absence of the expected announcement about a further deal, and all this talk of further fund raising (can only be seen in a positive light), that we are going to have a spectacular fireworks display for the results day....assuming we don't get any further announcements before the results.
DIL, I think you should tuck a few of these away for a year or two (even at these prices)....you will not be disappointed I'm sure. Now, before anyone else follows my advice, that is only meant for DIL. I only want one person trying to sue me if my advice goes wrong!!!!
If you guys want to knock other stocks with no real substance yet (or that may have run a liitle ahead of reality), then why don't you look at TRK, PRM, GHT, TDM and, dare I say it KTS (nah, only kidding about that last one)?
I might just get to make it on your Christmas card list with that tip.
All IMHO of course.

TARGETS:
Expect 1.80-2.00 by next w/e if no news
Expect 2+ if OTC deal announced
Expect 1.70 if plcing is announced (IMO this would have to be accompanied by a relevant PR related to the OTC deal)
This IS without question the most exciting stock on today's market.
The blue touch paper is about to be lit.
I'm also..... "expecting the unexpected."
Though I think next Friday there may be a huge load of buys prior to results on Monday.
The above figs based on what people have said on various boards and my own limited research.
Regards Nematode.

No mate,if you are not interested in BPRG then why hang around with negative posts which add nothing to the value of this thread, however if you've got something to say from your time spent researching the company then you are more than welcome to do so.

I am interested in BPRG, otherwise I wouldn't bother reading this thread. imop the price went up far too quickly and when it fell like a stone a lot of punters got their fingers burnt. I was thinking of buying back in but I'm not convinced that now is the right time for various reasons, the situation with Stanelco being one. Also I think if you have, in your own words, done " limited research " you shouldn't make assertions like " the blue touch paper is about to be lit", and " this is without question the most exciting stock in today's market". I do agree with you that there may be a lot of buying before the results on the 8th, but how the market reacts to these results is anyone's guess.

Bioprogress plans placing at 100p
Tim Freeborn
Announcement likely next week; placing at very deep discount
BioProgress Technology Internatinal(BPRG), the current punters favourite, is planning a placing next week at 100p. One investor was told he had to pay by next Wednesday.
In December the company raised 7m at 50p to fund the building of a factory to make its patented Xgel film.
The new placing is likely to coincide with a deal with a US maker of non-prescription medicines. This was promised by the end of January but has apparently been delayed because BioProgress concentrated on the link-up with FMC Biopolymer which was announced on 4 February and sent the shares soaring.
BioProgress has made a habit of raising money at a deep discount. It was floated early last year at 14p, around a third below its price on the Nasdaq OTC market. The December placing was also a third below its then price.
Late morning Bioprogress shares were down 3.9% to 132.5p. The company plans to post its preliminary results for the trading period from 22 May 2003 to 31 December 2003 on Monday 8 March.
