Have had 2 sets nicked from different cars. The last lot were (unfortunately) on full show through the hatchback - so they just put a brick through the glass and legged it. Had a spare bag in at the same time which also went. Claimed the lot with little problems. Was about 4 years ago since the last lot went. Now playing with full set of Calloways which are excellent.
BUT nightmare getting everything sorted out with the car. Best of luck pj.

The lengths to which some people will go to increase their chance of winning! First, have your clubs stolen and let everybody know you haven't a chance. Then replace them with a better set, practise through to midnight, come psychologically accepting you can't win, then play your socks off and clean up! Its like these pros like Langer coming up with bad backs and then winning comfortably. Can't see the point of MoneyAM guys winning the Level 2 though - better waive that one! Booby prizes?

Just returned after my "re-match" with PTH on my own (Championship Meadowland Course) today..... and let's just say that if there any brokers out there who are taking bets on the M-AM Golf Day then they would surely make PTH a clear out-&-out #1 favourite! The guy is an absolute bandit with nerves of steel.....
Result: match - halved but with Peter having to hole out 5 and 3 foot putts to keep the match going on 16 and 17, respectively. I repeat my earlier posts - We are all playing for 2nd, 3rd and spot hole prizes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys
mark knows he is in with a chance and is feeling slightly sore that having been two up with three to play, he lost the plot over the last two holes and let me halve the match with two double bogies. Must admit though, I was playing to win the last two holes after Mark found the water on the 17 and hit a tree on the 18, so wasn't trying to hole out for low scores. You will note, that no complaints from the 'Shark' (aka Mark - as his friends call him) with regard to handicaps. He only gave me 6 shots on a course I have never played before. Talking of bandits, with a nick name like the 'shark' and playing off 11 who exactly is the bandito here?? Competition tomorrow, so will try and reduce the handicap back down to a respectable 18.

A fair result - no excuses, chaps. I scrambled to be Out in 38/39 gross and Peter edged the back 9. Yes, I needed 2 closing pars to break 80 but Peter must have played to his handicap today at one of the best courses in the E Mids so what more can I say?! I re-re-re-re-repeat: We are all playing for the placement prizes at Longcliffe! Enjoyed the round & banter. PTH will be a great host in a few weeks' time, I have no doubts whatsoever.
But just a thought - with a 'Card' in yer hand, remember ye olde phrase: "Form can vary but class is permanent.....!".

Mark (aka the 'SHARK')
It's not the card in my hand I'm worried about, it's the bloody golf clubs!!

OK, you fellows: at least there is a third prize for the rest of us to go for! My problem is not the head of the clubs it is the head of my body! Can you lay a SHRINK on, Peter? Got fined 1 at the Fun Day on Friday for playing badly without swearing, so I hope there is a compensating prize for that!

Little birdie tells me you are playing very well, something about 40pts in away day comps? Hiding your 7 wood under a bushel methinks. Will try and find a shrink for the day, think we might all need one if it's tres windy!!

Well, I might have landed a little birdie, Peter, but my info has it that you landed an Eagle! Only 4 weeks to go. Surprising that more aren't rushing to join us. Looks like a great day in prospect and MoneyAM have done us proud with the prizes.

looks like i'll be lugging my old faithfuls (clubs) upto longcliffe on a train. My car is taking quite a long time to sort and my insurance company still haven't sent me the claims forms although i have ranted about this claim being very urgent due to this competition.
I used the new cobra at the weeked SZ440 OMG it is a beauty of a driver very long and straight until about the 14 when the snap hook came out of no where.
If anyone thinks about using CIS for insurance, think again.

PJ, Will you be "talking shop" at all when you participate? It's a Golf Day Event for sure but I would be interested to learn about anything I may have missed at your London Traders' Day, several weeks ago. Unfortunately I was unable to attend because of illness at the time. If you've got any handouts, info. booklets, etc., then I am always searching for new ways to invest......

You won't be saying that when I lift the Jug up at dinner, Eric! Whoops, I mean the #2 place Medal (behind PTH)! No, but seriously - just an opportunist, that's all, and I really couldn't make the Traders' Day which was a shame.

Marcus, how many lessons have you booked with the pro at Longcliffe? I think pre-comp. playing at Longcliffe constitutes insider trading and you should be penalised 2 shots. That should will move me up to third place behind Eric and PTH.

Marcus has now played Longcliffe 5 times and is such a good reader of the greens knows the course better than I!!
