Tony - Don't forget that other markets for SEO share dealing exist, such as Plus markets.

Today's LSE volume was 29.4M but on Plus markets there were an additional 19.6M.

Yesterday's LSE was 31.5M and Plus's was over 22.1M.

Plus markets normally accounts for about 25% of all trades in SEO but today's and yesterday's ratios are much higher.

I've not yet been able to see the equivalent Plus trades for the other 6-7 days or so prior.

Alfa.

Tonyrelaxes - 28 Nov 2006 23:42 - 22697 of 27111

Alfa - thanks. Although being aware of Plus, I did not know their volumes or if they were within the overall volume figures declared on LSE.

BHunt - Agreed - Ian was unaware of anything at the EGM judging by the way he spoke over coffee afterwards. Had he seen the Foil presentation?
The RNS says the dismissals were after a Board meeting on that day (14 Nov). Maybe he was forewarned at the apres EGM Board meeting (6 Nov) while we were in the pub! But HW was not around, he was busy at LHR, or so were were wanted to believe - maybe he had been fore-forewarned!

Q - LOL. If reality this could be beneficial for us to pick up the pieces especially the other half of BioTec. Sadly for us, I have a higher regard and expectation of French businessmen than falling for them.

As Eric says, we are in a completely new era now.
Profitez-en !!

bhunt1910 - 28 Nov 2006 23:58 - 22698 of 27111

Yes -= in hindsight there was definitely something going on at the EGM. Some members of the board were privvy and others were not. I suspect Ian was the fall guy and howard they needed to get rid off as he exerted too much influence.

Balerboy - 29 Nov 2006 00:05 - 22699 of 27111

Eric,

As I look about me I can see my small holding getting smaller, I'm a little concerned that there will be nothing left for my wife to enjoy.

But your re-assurance to be patient and one day soon it will start to swell and grow with gusto keeps me hanging on with all things crossed.

I do soooooooooooo hope your right!!!

greekman - 29 Nov 2006 07:39 - 22700 of 27111

Alfalfa,
Can you please expand re SEO and PLUS.
SEO are not registered as being available for dealing on the Plus Market, (according to Plus Market registered companies list) so presumably what occurs on this market does not directly effect SEO, or am I missing something.
Not saying you are wrong, but any explanation will help.

alfalfa - 29 Nov 2006 08:37 - 22701 of 27111

greekman - SEO have been available for trading on Plus markets for over 12 months.

You can see the trades here (with a 15 minute delay). If you click on "more", you can see a page for the last few days' trades.

Be patient and refresh the browser if necessary as it often takes a while to load.

http://www.plusmarketsgroup.com/details.shtml?ISIN=GB0005814198

As I write, 780,000 (the bulk of them purchases) have been traded on Plus versus 320,500 on LSE.

There are also other trades made on the Virt-x exchange but these are usually sparse.

The sorts of volumes going through Plus surely cannot fail to affect the overall market - but what do I know ?

Hope this helps.

Alfa.

garyble - 29 Nov 2006 09:28 - 22702 of 27111

There are also monthly summary spreadsheets on Plus for all traded stock dating back to Jan '06.

greekman - 29 Nov 2006 09:33 - 22703 of 27111

Alfalfa,
Thanks, now found it. I did look earlier but as you say took time to load so did not wait long enough first time.
Also SEO is not on Plus's company trading list which presumably needs updating.
Cheers Greek.

alfalfa - 29 Nov 2006 09:39 - 22704 of 27111

greek - Glad you found it.

If you go to the home/index page of Plus, look who's currently top of the gainers' list.

Also, if you put SEO in the search box at top right, guess what turns up !

Alfa.

garyble - 29 Nov 2006 11:36 - 22705 of 27111

Greek,

You're most likely looking at the Plus quoted list and not the Plus traded list. Go to the "select" box top right and choose the traded list, SEO appears on it.

greekman - 29 Nov 2006 12:27 - 22706 of 27111

Garyble, Alfalfa
Thanks, found it.
I was thinking traded company, quoted company as same thing. Not having one of my better days.
Cheers Greek.

EWRobson - 29 Nov 2006 20:07 - 22708 of 27111

That's some 1.5 billion shares traded or 50% of the equity. Is there any advantage is trading on Plus? Is it used for derivatives, such as CFDs?

Balerboy: I did not call it right on the way down and lost much of the gain made on the way up. But all you can do is ask what lesson you have learnt - in this case, not for the first time, is not to take what you are told at face value. Once there is failure to deliver on a promise, make for the exit door. Easier said than done, I know. I do believe there is a thorough discontinuity with history, so it is a new era in which Schroder, almost certainly in my view, are in the driving seat either directly or via their man. Most of us believe in the products, with reservations on Greenseal not because of the technology but because of the environment and retrofitting issues. Once the current slide is seen to be over, there can't be much downside and the possibility of a major success story could re-emerge. Argument for averaging down?

Eric

bristlelad - 29 Nov 2006 20:47 - 22709 of 27111

the main advantage---the old old story-cost /plus-cheaper to deal that it/

garyble - 29 Nov 2006 22:32 - 22710 of 27111

Whilst waiting for something to happen.....

There was a mention a while ago about a 5m euro promisory note. can anyone shed any light on the origin and implication?

boldtrader - 29 Nov 2006 22:48 - 22711 of 27111

Eric, Since signing up on this forum, I have read with interest the posts from you and other members of the board, and indeed have contacted certain members to discuss aspects of this investment/trade/deal whatever you may want to call it.This bb is civilised whatever point of view one may hold and that is good.
I personally have held this share and followed SEO through thick and thin since 2001 when i first realised the potential this technology may have in(then) the future.I think(said tongue in cheek, for it is many years now)I made some profit along the way, but, I was caught short when incorrectly I presumed the share was on its way to the high beliefs I was expecting @ 20p 17p 14p and was stuck!! and in answer to your question I have averaged down to a realistic level which is still really not low enough, should one average down again!!? I still believe and trust my investment/gamble will show me a profit at the end of the day(which day?)
I sincerely hope all the long term holders on this board will look back on this experience with pleasure and relief.
Good luck to all,Cheers.
PS. Where has A.Hewitt gone? moved house or moved share?
PPS.Tony, Cheers.

Alan Hewitt is currently on tour with his team playing cricket for England. They were engaged as part of a cost cutting exercise and their names changed. I believe Alan is now known as Matthew Hoggard - the real team have have been killed and the proceeds from their life insurance will further boost the coffers of the ECB. All part of a major plan to win back the Ashes by around 2025.

bhunt1910 - 30 Nov 2006 09:02 - 22713 of 27111

eric - I trade qith Barclays SB and they use the Plus market 'cos its cheaper.

Nice to see you back by the way

Not new news but the pressure continues to build.

Tax on packaging proposal slammed by industry body
By George Reynolds

29/11/2006 - An influential industry body has hit back at a call by environmental and consumer advocacy groups to put a tax on disposable and 'hard-to-recycle' packaging.

The Industry Council for Packaging and the Environment (Incpen), whose members include Tetra Pak, Coca Cola and Cadbury's, said research produced in favour of the tax was faulty and ignores major issues involved in packaging products.

boldtrader - Mr Market does not play "average". Averaging down is meaningless in reality. What price you bought at in the past has no relevance to your question today - should I invest any of my spare cash in this company here, now, based on its prospects from this moment forth.

The fact that your average break even looks lower is an illusion. You still lose the same amount on your earlier purchases and still gain the same on the new purchases quite independent of each other. Albeit, emotionally it feels nice.

So you should view averaging down as a result of an investment decision, not as a parameter of such investment decision.

The only +ve about your earlier investments is that you are now likely to know the company very well and can therefore make a better decision. Ask yourself, would you advise your mother (?) to invest a portion of her pension pot in SEO today, never having beein in SEO before?

Personally, I think SEO has a better than average chance of doing very well from here - a 10 bagger puts the SP back at only 12.5p. Upside to downside is probably a fair ratio of 5:1, so why not? Although it's a better tactic to wait until the new management/shareholder combine gives clear indication of direction or at least one concrete element of success before investing, even though you may lose the first 100%(!) rise. Investing now is more like horse-racing. The form is good, it's exhilarating, but is it investment?
