GF - I come home pretty destroyed some times myself and am certain there are going to more suicides as sure as eggs are eggs. The government does need to be looking in different areas. I am as aware as you that there are people swinging the system but a majority are desparate needy people who have very little and need the extra help to be cared for at home. A lot of our people are elderly and too proud to claim and have worked all their lives. We have a lot of good results but a lot of knock backs - i.e. a lady 90 yrs of aged was refused help. Makes my blood crawl.

The suicide rate is about normal for the UK. It is up and down each year. The previous highest rate was in 2002 when Labour were in power.

The £53 pound figure is nonsense. The guy that started it all off has now admitted that he gets £156 per week and also gets housing benefit and working tax credit. There have been complaints about the original BBC interview because they did not do enough research on the guy.

no, it's good genes! ... i think you'll find i still look near as dammit the same (67 end july) .... if i could work out how to post pix here, i'ld put up another from last year's trip to prove the point .... this year, it'll be the usual +/-200 miles just south of the loire - loches (just south of tours), valencay, buzancais, poitiers, parthenay, loudun and back to loches

i doubt very much that i'll have time to go to the s'market today and i'm off tomorrow to see number one son + d-in-l + 2 beasts .... however, i have already formulated in my mind a balanced shopping list to eat properly for a week = breakfast, lunch, dinner ..... i'll write it out and post later

with reluctance (i hate the place) i'll go to sainsbury's as it'll be a bit cheaper than waitrose, but i'll also use my local farm shop and possibly butcher too ...... we have a market in marlow every week which will be cheaper than even sainsbury's for some items, but it's on a wednesday so been and gone

it wasn't great (bit tatty and tacky) though i know it was one of the best performing stores in the group ..... Beloved goes to beaconsfield, and i too have been there ..... that is a very good s'market, but then i believe it is one of the flagship stores

sainsbury's completely missed plot and trick when opening in marlow ..... it's a huge site, but it's not aimed nearly high enough - to put it as gently as i can

2 from 3 ....... potatoes (already in veg), pasta, couscous

miscellaneous ....... chicken carcasses (they're free), porridge oats, bread, butter, milk, tea bags, tinned tomatoes, vegetable oil (olive oil if enough in kitty)

sticky .... i have not ducked out at all ..... it is you now trying to move the goalposts as i think you see the sand slipping from beneath your feet

i only ever volunteered to feed you well, healthily and economically as that is where my knowledge lies ....

you have my initial week's shopping list above, but there is plenty of variation in there and also other things i could have added ...... i started out at £20 a week for food, but volunteered that i thought it a bit heavy, so asked for your suggestion of a sensible food budget from £56 (remember your rent and council tax is paid) .....

btw, those who are disabled, chronically ill etc etc get (are genuinely entitled) to many more benefits than just the £56 that was first mooted - i believe the £56 is unemployment benefit only

in that instance, Cameron is absolutely right ..... just because you have good (who says?) qualifications does not mean the world is gagging to give you a job ..... my local taxi firm has a number of drivers who were made redundant from decent jobs ..... one of the gardening firms that operates around here has an oxford graduate working for him
