Well done, Jimmy. I did take some profits at 28p but held on to too much for too long on the descent (although finally out at 7.75p). However, I suspect that you have come to have a look and may not be up-to-date. Its also clear that many posters are carrying over a mindset from the operations pre the fund-raising. I suggest that the best mindset is to try to forget the history: with Schroders involved and two key directors gone the management of the company has fundamentally changed. What does SEO have that makes it worth the current cap. of 35m (and maybe several times that next year)? A set of innovative products; marketing positions with some key players in the consumer product world. We don't know when contracts will emerge (I am happy that they will emerge with Schroders involvement because they would not invest if they were not convinced) but, under the new regime, we will not get misleading RNSs so will have to wait for the hard news.

There is not that many staff left working for Stanelco!!
I think someone is getting the wrong end of the stick ( I hope ) - the 15 people made redundant was done some time ago.
With regard to the USA office - I do not think it did much anyway - however I do not see the logic of orders in the pipeline.
As I have said before, it is taking too long for these contracts to be signed - In my opinion there is something not right - what a surprise!!
Nothing ever goes to plan with this company.

The price seems to have taken a significant hit finishing at 1.10 and yet I can not see a large sale to finish the day?
Also, it would seem therefore that depending on when this news broke it was a surprise and has not been taken well.
Something is not quite right - so how do we find out what is happening?

Stanelco News
All Stanelco RNS and Buisiness Wire announcements to the Market
Biotec target of 200,000 tons per annum
This is from the SPHere Spanish Website, translated (badly !) by Altavista, but it's good enough to understand that SPHere and Stanelco expect production at the end of 2006 to be 50,0000 tons per annum, and more importantly they may have plans to build a second 50,000 tons per annum factory in France next year, and they say it's then realistic to raise production to 200,000 tons per annum within two years
With BIOTEC, SPHERE makes sure the supplyings biopoleros, as well as the capacity to develop ambitious research programs. BIOTEC, that is controlled in another 50% by British company STANELCO, invoiced in 2005 about 2.5 million of? and tms./a projects to increase its capacity of production of present 15,000 bioplticos of, to 50,000 tms./a at the end of 2006. The company does not discard to construct one second plant of 50,000 tms./a in France in 2007 and considers realist to reach a productive potential of next 200,000 bioplticos of tms./a in the two years, given the necessities of this new market. In addition to the biodegradable bags, the new production of menaje and added domestic packing to the hers traditional one of bags, will allow SPHERE SPAIN to break the stagnation of the sales of the last years. After the insolvent attempt to buy COTALSA, which it produces a similar article range to which SPHERE SPAIN will commercialize from this spring, the group chose to entrust to the Spanish branch his own production. This new activity could elevate between 3 and 4 million of? the annual invoicing of SPHERE SPAIN, that until now was of almost 30 million of? annual.

Just a reasonable slice of that $42 Billion would be good. (see below).
The report looks at getting the balance between the true cost of environmental packaging with it's true cost.
Sustainable Food and Beverage Packaging Market to Surpass $42 Billion by 2010.
Dec. 08, 2006.
As the collective U.S. consciousness slowly accepts the idea of sustainable and eco-friendly products, manufacturers and retailers have responded, particularly in the food and beverage industry where shipments of sustainable or green packaging exceeded $37 billion in 2005, according to Sustainable (Green) Packaging Market for Food & Beverages, a new report from market research publisher Specialists in Business Information (SBI).

I recall that the capacity of Biotec was to be upped to 20,000 tonnes pa. for an investment of 1.5m each {SPhere and SEO}, the aim was to achieve maximum capacity early 2007.
RNS 26th July 2005:
"Stanelco, the RF (radio frequency) applications group is pleased to announce
that it has received a conditional commitment from SP Metal its Joint Venture ('
JV') partner in Biotec for an annual purchase of approximately 10,000 metric tonnes of Biotec's biodegradable pellet worth in excess of 20m per year"
Also RNS re: EGM - 30th August 2005:
"Stanelco and SP Metal had initially agreed to increase Biotec's production
capacity of biodegradable pellets to at least 12,000 metric tonnes within nine
months via a joint investment programme of up to 4.5m. However due to further
recent improvements in both the production procedures and the ability to process
the materials, a capacity of 24,000 tonnes for an investment of 2m is now envisaged within the same period"
and "pre-close statement" 16th December 2005:
"The relationship with SPhere is working well. We are on schedule to substantially increase in 2006 the production capacity of these materials - including Starpol to 20,000 tonnes by early 2007"

The relatively small sale by Schroders (or correction to holding) brought the doom and gloom merchants out. This more than offsets the reduction in holding so where are they now?

Schroders made a few bob on the last lot they sold, don't you think it possible that they may do the same again?

I suspect Schroders work in terms of millions of quid rather than a few bob! They are also reasonably patient provided that they have some control over events, which we do not have.
