ASOS: BUY AT LOW PRICE!!!! (ASC)

wilco99 - 12 Sep 2003 15:52

ASOS have dropped quite significantly in the past week for no particular reason and I view this as the perfect opportunity to invest as I can see them bouncing right back up to the 5.50p mark in the next 2-3 weeks. STRONG BUY!!

cynic - 07 Oct 2008 12:14 - 2293 of 5941

sp totally clattered ..... confess i did not have the balls to short them the other day ..... silly really; psychologicallyt much harder to short than to go long

hlyeo98 - 07 Oct 2008 13:28 - 2294 of 5941

cynic - 07 Oct 2008 14:13 - 2295 of 5941

hlyeo98 - 08 Oct 2008 17:19 - 2296 of 5941

236 now...ASOS is crashing surprisingly.

WOODIE - 08 Oct 2008 18:28 - 2297 of 5941

hlyeo there is a institutional distressed seller in need of cash forcing the price down see todays rns re d/bank.

cynic - 08 Oct 2008 18:35 - 2298 of 5941

deutsche bank has been under presure and offloading shares in all sorts of companies for months, though of course Germany does not have a banking crisis - much! ..... just like neither France nor Germany had BSE

quite extraordinary ..... only down 3p despite the bloodbath

HARRYCAT - 21 Oct 2008 13:15 - 2301 of 5941

Will be interesting to see where this now goes.
Would expect 1st quarter results 2009 to be down. Just a question of how much.

cynic - 22 Oct 2008 16:00 - 2302 of 5941

quite amazing .... have just noted sp +18 at 263 = +7% in a day of total blood and gore

robinhood - 22 Oct 2008 16:55 - 2303 of 5941

Cynic- seem to recall that on Nov1 some further data will be announced- may be someone in the know?

robinhood - 22 Oct 2008 16:55 - 2304 of 5941

they saved some of my bacon at least today

WOODIE - 22 Oct 2008 17:10 - 2305 of 5941

"We will provide a further trading update with the interim results, for the six months ended 30 September 2008, to be released on 17 November 2008"

cynic - 22 Oct 2008 17:11 - 2306 of 5941

i think their figures will be very good, but it is the forecast that will be watched

WOODIE - 22 Oct 2008 17:59 - 2307 of 5941

cynic you wont get a true picture until the xmas trading update issued in jan.

i was very slow on the uptake ..... if any retail is still flourishing, it is the on-line companies ..... also, there is an interest rate cut due on thursday ...... and finally, IG seems to have reached its internal long limit ..... conclusion - there should be a decent profit to be made here, especially if a bear squeeze ensues, which is far from imposible

HARRYCAT - 04 Nov 2008 11:45 - 2310 of 5941

Surely though, a poor Xmas (which is likely imo) will see these retailers slide further?

cynic - 04 Nov 2008 11:48 - 2311 of 5941

in general i would agree with you, but firstly i shall probably not stay in until the new year, and secondly, the likes of ASOS should benefit, perhaps disproportionately, from any spending induced by both the rate cut and christmas
