Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Hays,
I think the tories should pay the funeral expenses for their icon.
A state funeral would be a waste of tax payers money.
Or perhaps, the funeral expenses should be paid out of a whip around at the Dog and Duck and the tory party membership.
I hope they don't try recycling her.

Very sad news. I think she served this country with dignity and integrity - two qualities sadly lacking in the current crop of politicians.

Which means that labour MP's should pay for their leader's funeral expenses when they pass away. I wonder if they would want to be buried by the local authority according to good socialist principles?

let's leave the village idiot's ramblings at the bottom of his beer glass or pub urinal, where they belong ......
i suspect the normal course of events is that an ex PM's funeral remains primarily a family affair ...... it may be that parliament will wish to allocate some funds towards same as a mark of respect, but i have no idea whether or not such a "donation" is customary .... if not, it would set a rather uncomfortable precedent

How despicable some of the comments are, the lady in question is not even cold - just go to the pub and have a "tap room" debacle with your associates.

Tanker your post 22979 is truly appalling. You should be ashamed of yourself for making a comment like that in the immediate aftermath of her death.

You can blame the miners' strike and conflict on one person only. Scargill caused the whole thing and never even had a union vote on the strike. Just a communist trying to bring down the government with Soviet money.

Scargill was an egotistical twit who wasn't interested in the miners - he just wanted to see himself on the telly every day.
