Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

will10 - 25 May 2016 14:39 - 2316 of 12628

You prove the point.

In your view all data is wrong.

Dr Woolaston, a Brexiter, points out the false facts in the outers leading NHS case. It's all rubbish, it's not true. But you don't believe her.

Both sides are lying. People don't believe anything.

If you have a job why risk voting out.

On the free movement issue, .....why don't all the unemployed Spanish, Greek, French and Italian come on over here.

Your tidal wave of mass immigration is massively overstated.

I've already said, many things in EU need to change, including the use of a single currency. But we should stay in.

Haystack - 25 May 2016 14:50 - 2317 of 12628

The OUTers will be a bit happier from Friday as we enter the period of Purdah when civil servants will not be able to help Cameron's IN campaign. Government money also cannot be spent in support. Cameron can repeat dire economic warnings, but no more studies can be paid for.

It is possible that the BoE may have to break that rule as their next meeting is on 16 June, just a week before the referendum. If something comes up in the minutes of their meeting that is negative to an OUT result then it will be reported.

iturama - 25 May 2016 15:57 - 2318 of 12628

I think they are already over here Will. London is the 6th largest french speaking city in Europe. The french consulate estimates that between 300,000 - 400,000 have moved to London.
God knows how many Greeks , Ities and Spanish since they have been coming for years.
You don't have to spend much time in those countries to understand why. All ok for a visit but not to live. The decay and neglect is there to see. Even Paris, despite its high taxes, is looking run down.

VICTIM - 25 May 2016 15:58 - 2319 of 12628

Sacre blur .

Haystacks said----''It is possible that the BoE may have to break that rule as their next meeting is on 16 June, just a week before the referendum. If something comes up in the minutes of their meeting that is negative to an OUT result then it will be reported.''

What if something positive comes up to an OUT result, will that be reported?

VICTIM - 25 May 2016 16:14 - 2321 of 12628

Caught him out there again GEORGE .You are quite right .

Haystack - 25 May 2016 16:14 - 2322 of 12628

It is unlikely as the BoE committee is really looking at risks to the economy. The minutes are about what was said in the meeting. In the unlikely event that a member of the committee says something positive about leaving the EU then it will be reported.

will10 - 25 May 2016 16:21 - 2323 of 12628

I would say they contribute to society. They pay their taxes, and on balance are a great benefit to the economy. Why don't more come?? I would argue they deserve a place in schools for their kids. Even if they don't have children, some of the taxes collected goes to schools. Shortage of places is a failure of forecasting.

Here in the southwest, as you well know, we are much more loved up than elsewhere in the UK. An unemployment rate of less than 4% and the sunshine leads to, surprise... babies.. But it is an known outcome of our passions .
We plan for it and that includes school places.

grannyboy - 25 May 2016 16:30 - 2324 of 12628

will10(2316) I've not read this leaflet you are referring to, and I don't
know much about this Dr Woolaston and her comments.

As to why don't the Spanish, Greek, French, Italian come over.

They do you moron, in their hundreds of thousands...There's also been
MILLIONS of eastern europeans too.....Not to mention the HIGH hundreds
of thousands of immigrants from the rest of the world....

If you like the EU so much why don't you look for a job in Greece..
Hungary...Romania????

You are one of those idiots who has his head stuck up is rse...Do you
also live in the Islington of the South East???

VICTIM - 25 May 2016 16:34 - 2325 of 12628

The remainers have an unhealthy obsession with filling this country up with immigrants , for some reason . you would swear we were 100% white English .

grannyboy - 25 May 2016 16:43 - 2326 of 12628

The IMF(Christine Lagarde) is also reporting a couple of days before
the referendum, and that WILL contain dire warnings if we leave...
Just to help her friend osborne, you understand...

Carney should be out of a job after the last 'political' BOE minutes diatribe,
and i'm sure he will find something negative to spout at the next one...
If he does he should definitely be sacked, or will it have to wait for when cameron/osborne get kicked out

grannyboy - 25 May 2016 16:46 - 2327 of 12628

will10, You are one thick chav...

How can you make a forecast when you don't know how many will come?.

It's obvious you don't live in the real world.

will10 - 25 May 2016 16:52 - 2328 of 12628

Grannyboy

The leaflet is the main Brexit argument for leaving. Dr Woolaston, is aTory out supporter that disowned it because of it's false statements.
You accuse one side of misleading and telling lies. Acknowledge your side does the same. You should read about Dr Woolaston or simply google it.

I fully acknowledge both sides are lying.

The point about the Geeks and Spanish is that even with their massive unemployment and free access here they are not flooding in. Those that do, fill vacancies we already have and they pay their taxes. Many are vital to or public services.

I have a job here and an English wife.

I do not live in Islington nor to the east of it.

My sole purpose on here is to counter hypocrites.

jimmy b - 25 May 2016 16:58 - 2329 of 12628

That's funny Cameron called OUTERS immoral ,are you calling OUTERS hypocrites ?

jimmy b - 25 May 2016 17:07 - 2330 of 12628

Very interesting charts of where YOU live to show population growth ,just move the mouse over your town.....

will10 - 25 May 2016 17:09 - 2331 of 12628

.No. Just calling out those that make hypocrital statements.

But if the shoe fits...then put it on yourself.

VICTIM - 25 May 2016 17:12 - 2332 of 12628

So we have a BB with what 10 regular contributors , and a man with a job is spending ever more time of his job countering hypocrites and people who need to realise there's a big World out there cos we are too insular . Unhealthy Obsession I'd call it .

jimmy b - 25 May 2016 17:17 - 2333 of 12628

Programme on the London borough of Newham where 73% of the population is made up of ethnic minorities and the most of the British residents are moving out and it's called racist !!!!!!!!

Whats up?? usually you all have a one sided mutual back slap with each other, but I'm having a quieter day here. I'm maning the show flat whilst Debbie has a day off.

So plenty of time to wind you self congratulation morons up.

I only do it to fill in time and raise your blood pressure.

Busy tomorrow. So you boys can enjoy your love in in peace.
