You should take solace from the fact that Al has let you know how to short a stock and indeed how to 'trade' a stock using DMA striaght into the book. Problem with CFDs is the taxable aspect. The alternative is spread betting which is not taxable but without the DMA element. If you wonder why Dil and Al have disparaged your comments about the buys and sells think about DMA and how the trades are reported. You might also like to consider DMA when complaining about MMs manipulating the spread. With an illquid(ish) stock I can probably move the spread to my heart's content, without buying or selling a single share. No point either in whinging about the big boys, if you want to compete, find out how to, which means research, research and when you've finished researching do a bit more.
