THURSDAY, 08 JUNE, 2006 *

So several months have passed... Based on the success of last Summer's Event at Longcliffe G.C., a few of you have asked me to take over the reigns from PTH and organise another G0LF M0NEY-AM DAY again based in the MIDLANDS. This is fairEST to the majority coming from all over the UK! From initial feedback (reflecting on 2005 36-Hole hot mid-Summer's day!), the popular view for a 2006 Event has been agreed, as follows: -

* Tea/Coffee on arrival.
* 9 Holes (4BBB 3/4 Stab.) Comp.
* Sandwiches/Lunch.
** 18 Holes (MAIN INDIVIDUAL (FULL HANDICAP) STABLEFORD EVENT) with M-AM and Golfing Prizes for Winners, incl. "Nearest-to-the-Pin" on the 9th. Hole and "The-Longest-Drive" on the 18th. Hole.
* 3-Course Evening Dinner (full waitress service), incl. coffee & mints + Prize Presentation/Mic. Table.

(** ADDITIONAL PRIZES from our generous SPONSORS include: - 3 months worth of Shares Magazine sent to the homes of EACH COMPETITOR every week. The Overall Winner will get The Money-AM Annual Golf Challenge Cup to keep for good plus 1 year's worth of Money-AM Level 2 service worth 357.50 + Vat. The Runner-Up and Third Placed Winners will each get a medal to keep plus 6 months' level 2.)

Venue: - H0RSLEY L0DGE G.C., Belper, Derbyshire (Championship Meadowland Course with American-type Greens). Refreshments will be in the On-Site Kingfisher Restaurant. Entry Fee is: - 60 per Competitor which will cover all of the above ** plus enough to buy some additional golfing prizes.

Suggest 4bbb on Friday morning. Have bagged the shark, recognising that he needs me to overcome Fliper and partner. The four lows with the four highs if everyone can make it?

Eric

fliper - 25 Apr 2006 16:15 - 234 of 505

Eric , now you have the shark for the 4bbb , you must be odds on for the morning .I will have to spur on my partner .

EWRobson - 25 Apr 2006 19:58 - 235 of 505

Or shaft the shark! lol :o)

markusantonius - 25 Apr 2006 20:19 - 236 of 505

Still awaiting MONEY-AM to invite all our posters to enter! Ian/Paul, may I ask what is happening here, as I thought you were sending out a widespread invitation a fortnight ago? Also are any of you M-AM people planning a last-minute entry yourselves?
If not, then how will the winners receive their respective prizes? Time is running by.....

markusantonius - 27 Apr 2006 00:57 - 237 of 505

Fliper, you have mail.

fliper - 29 Apr 2006 15:24 - 238 of 505

THE SHARK V FLIPER friday afternoon saw the rematch , the shark now hitting it 25 yards longer off the tee . A short game better than most . What chance had fliper got ? news to follow

ptholden - 30 Apr 2006 12:05 - 239 of 505

Actually managed to play yesterday, so that's now four games in 7 months. Home on Saturday and straight into a Medal, following a long drive from Scotland. Should be able to break 150 :-) though.

So Markus is now hitting his drives 175 yds folowing his 25yd improvement? At this rate he will be able to reach the Par 3s in two! :-)

pth

markusantonius - 30 Apr 2006 15:40 - 240 of 505

PTH, 6 more comps. and you will be back up to 18, by my calcs.! Anyway you know my response to short-drive banter... Just show us yer handicap certificate, matey? :o) What's that old phrase: - "You drive for show and putt for dough!"...? So when you can get to single figures, Pete, then you can start taking the **** (only in yer dreams though!). LOL.

BTW Shark must have outdriven Fliper 4 times on Friday!

fliper - 30 Apr 2006 17:48 - 241 of 505

BTW shark you forgot to mention the result from friday. Horsley have a new flag on the 10 , its white with a picture of a shark on !

markusantonius - 30 Apr 2006 19:24 - 242 of 505

Hey, you were the same "up" on the final match hole as you were on the 10th. which hardly describes surrender, does it, Fliper?
On the contrary, shark fins were battling away right up until when the match ended albeit on the 14th. green (by '5 & 4')!
Well played anyway (+2 gross!).

markusantonius - 01 May 2006 20:25 - 243 of 505

OK, guys... Thanks to all of you [above] for your keen participation (and prompt payment!). But I am herewith putting a deadline on submitting entries. The Club have very kindly accommodated me alongside a huge Society Day and I am being asked to confirm definite tee-off times a.s.a.p.?

Therefore my deadline (duly stretched!) for additional entries must be, as follows: -

Online indication = 14 May.

Chq received = absolutely no later than: 19 May.

M-AM - sorry to be so precise here but I have done absolutely everyone within my power to try and promote this Event (even incl. a draft mail-shoot for you guys with promises yet to be fulfilled!). But tee times in June are being eagerly sought after (the Club have today been asked for another 30 mins. of tee-off times, I was informed, this afternoon!). So I cannot stall any longer.

* TO * ANYONE INTERESTED * PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR INTEREST **** NOW ****

Thank you.

EWRobson - 02 May 2006 20:47 - 246 of 505

Well done, marcus. We have the commitment of Ian Taylor to put out their e-mail this week but you are right to put a deadline on bookings. For anyone looking in, this was a first-class event last year; the location is very accessible and the course looks a fascinating challenge; the MoneyAM prizes are very relevant to the investor, too. I have booked in at the club so looking to some serious celebrations.

Eric

IanT(MoneyAM) - 03 May 2006 08:27 - 247 of 505

Eric,

Just had my computer rebuilt, so will dig out the text for the E mail and get something sent this week. Sorry for the delay.

Ian

fliper - 03 May 2006 18:16 - 248 of 505

Markus , nice to see a deadline . We can see whos partnering who

markusantonius - 03 May 2006 21:59 - 249 of 505

OK, thanks, Ian.

BTW since it appears that no-one from M-AM will be participating this year, how can the winners expect to receive their Trophy Prizes? Just thought I'd ask because I understand that Eric is already scheduling his life in a build up to the big day and appears confident of regaining his Crown!

EWRobson - 03 May 2006 22:18 - 250 of 505

After the Open Championship and, perhaps, the World matchplay at Wentworth, this is probably THE event of the year. Roll up folk!

markusantonius - 04 May 2006 02:11 - 251 of 505

Yes indeed, Eric. Your 1st. Prize last year was est. @ 550 + VAT (at the time!) which, I am reliably informed, actually exceeds the R&A's official "Amateur" allowance. So, technically speaking, you are now defaulted into the ranks of "professional" status. Mmmh... trust you will be playing of "scratch" in June then? :o)

As you know Peter Mc.Evoy designed HL's American-style greens and he was doing some consultancy back there several weeks ago... Some of the holes are going to be changed (and lengthened) so they obviously want to make it tougher for when Eric and the M-AM boyz arrive!
