I can see that mathematically going to be harder to win
in the second month as many are starting from place 1000 or so
after having done terribly last month
and so a 10% gain from that on a recovery of a rubbish trade
puts them near the top

Going to have to win the overall I suppose :-)

Kayak - 01 Jun 2005 12:44 - 234 of 550

Well you could buy the same stock foale. You're right though, the one flaw in the game is that the people who were in a trade as of last night have had their loss on the spread accounted for last month, since the valuations are done on bid for longs and offer for shorts, and the stamp duty too in the case of longs. They do have an advantage over anyone not in a trade and buying the same stock today.

RUPIE - 01 Jun 2005 12:47 - 235 of 550

Would it not be fairer and more accurate for the gains in the Monthly charts to be expressed as a percentage of 100,000 we all started with? It would also allow interesting accurate monthly performance comparisons.

foale - 01 Jun 2005 15:05 - 236 of 550

I can see the top 20 monthly is ok the top 50 though seems to be
not updated properly

Sorry Ian more requests

Bullshare - 01 Jun 2005 15:28 - 237 of 550

Foale; being fixed as we speak. Thanks for pointing this out.

Rupie: The monthly comp. is simply the best peeformer in th emonth be it from a starting point of 100k or more or less. It re-levels the playing field a bit and gives those who had a bad 1st month a chance to win the 2nd months prize if they do well. The overall game position/leagues shows the % gain or loss over the original 100,000 invested.

Top250 Monthly....yes...need all of that to see my entry :-)
Nice one....

RUPIE - 01 Jun 2005 16:36 - 239 of 550

mg - 02 Jun 2005 17:02 - 241 of 550

SoS
Could you show the top 500 - I might have a chance in that. Anyway, shares are for poofs - real men (and women) play the indices and FOREX.

chocolat - 02 Jun 2005 18:49 - 242 of 550

I registered, only I can't remember what as...haven't even got out of the blocks yet :)
How come the girlies get brackets around them, ten four?

mg - 03 Jun 2005 08:46 - 243 of 550

They're not brackets they're handcuffs.

foale - 03 Jun 2005 16:21 - 244 of 550

so Ian how far down are England on this list overall

Dil - 03 Jun 2005 18:23 - 245 of 550

If they finish bottom and their is an international stockpicking tournament then the majority of the British team would still be English ... ask Clive Woodward.

Maggot - 08 Jun 2005 08:07 - 246 of 550

Bit of a cock-up. I need to close a MSHL short before going out; but they can't find it... yet I sold 9000 yesterday!

Photomad - 08 Jun 2005 08:20 - 247 of 550

Sorry wrong thread

IanT(MoneyAM) - 08 Jun 2005 08:27 - 248 of 550

Maggot,

We will take a look into this,

Ian

Kayak - 10 Jun 2005 16:04 - 249 of 550

Definitely something wrong, the league tables haven't changed since midday...

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Jun 2005 16:06 - 250 of 550

We have been looking into it.

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Jun 2005 16:11 - 251 of 550

A Company called TNJ had been without an offer price all afternoon - if there is something like this out there the table will remain static as it has so as not to give people a completely false view.

when this is resolved the leagues will be gin to update again

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Jun 2005 16:12 - 252 of 550

KArl is going to resolve this
