Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Haystacks in the post today on the influx of French/Italian/Greek we have been discussing the arrival of these nationals due to whats been going on in the EU.

We're aware of the past immigration of these peoples, which was
never at the numbers at which they're now.

Haystack - 25 May 2016 21:09 - 2341 of 12628

There have been far more Italian, French and Spanish come here in the past than are coming now. We have almost the lowest immigration from the EU of all the European countries.

Try selling stuff in La Belle France, the paperwork will make you go cross eyed.

Aldwickk....out for me...but I agree with Cynic that looks like remain will win.....crazy really .....some important personalities seem to be under the impression that trading with Europe will just stop....no way...it's just that we will not be present when European standards/agreements are being made...but like the Swiss and Norwegians : we will adjust to the situation and make and sell products to the European standards that will be made available ....

I have to say that more b......t has been spoken during this election than at any previous election/referendum I can remember !.....(mainly from the remain camp)....

Haystack - 25 May 2016 22:24 - 2345 of 12628

It was always going to be like that. It will get worse over the next few weeks. Look at the Scottish referendum.

VICTIM - 26 May 2016 07:40 - 2346 of 12628

I have to laugh at will i am , comes on here calling people " twats " , " gobshites " and various other obscenities just because they don't agree with him , thinks he can influence people , had more influence from a 6 year old .

grannyboy - 26 May 2016 08:07 - 2347 of 12628

Haystack (2342) "There have been far more Italian, French, and Spanish come here in the past then are coming now"

Yes if you take all the immigration from these countries over a hundred
years, maybe..But when you've got hundreds of thousands coming here
in a matter of a couple of years then that's when you have the problems.

As to "We have almost the lowest immigration from all the EU of the European
countries"

That does not make sense, They've been coming here because they can't find
jobs in their own countries due to the impact of the EU's austerity measures
inflicted on countries like Greece, where unemployment in the 18-25 year olds
is nearly 50%.

There's only been one major country where there's been more immigration
and that's Germany, and caused by Merkels foolish invitation to all that the
doors was open with the welcome mat laid out...

MaxK - 26 May 2016 08:29 - 2348 of 12628

8 million in the next 5 years is the latest prediction (wireless)

Where are they going to put them? What are they going to do for a crust??

Fred1new - 26 May 2016 08:29 - 2349 of 12628

The cess pool of debate?

VICTIM - 26 May 2016 08:37 - 2350 of 12628

What , who , why , where .

VICTIM - 26 May 2016 08:38 - 2351 of 12628

Is that the EU or just Britain MaxK .

jimmy b - 26 May 2016 08:50 - 2352 of 12628

No one knows how many but unlike Cameron and his boyfriend i can tell you with pin point accuracy that it will be a lot .

grannyboy - 26 May 2016 08:52 - 2353 of 12628

And a PS to my post 2347...That's not counting ALL those from countries like
Romania, Hungary, Etc, etc..Where the wages in the UK are a 6-7 times more
then in their own countries..

VICTIM - 26 May 2016 08:53 - 2354 of 12628

It will be unending .

jimmy b - 26 May 2016 09:01 - 2355 of 12628

Anyone who thinks that the UK won't carry on being flooded with migrants is barking mad (see Fred) one day in the not too distant future a British government will wake up and say "shit we have a major problem" by then it will be too late (it almost is now)
If we stay in the EU it will without doubt be the end of Britain as we knew it.

grannyboy - 26 May 2016 09:04 - 2356 of 12628

There was a program on tv last night 'Nightmare Tentants, Slum Landlords'

It's been aired over the last few weeks, and it shows you houses that have
been turned into HMO, with every room made into a bedsit, so when you've got
a three bed house turned into a house with 6/8 bedsits with dangerous electrics
and dodgy plumbing, and the inhabitants paying 75 pounds a week, its quite a
racket and gives some insight into the disadvantage the British workers are
when it comes to competing with immigration, particularly when
employment agencies advertise directly in other low wage countries to
work in the UK.

MaxK - 26 May 2016 09:05 - 2357 of 12628

That's blighty Vic.

Good for house prices I suppose.

VICTIM - 26 May 2016 09:08 - 2358 of 12628

They mostly come from hot countries , well i hope the utilities are aware if we have a cold winter , those heaters are going to be on full time .

VICTIM - 26 May 2016 09:10 - 2359 of 12628

Just Britain , that's shocking , how they can anyone want that .
