it's not investing in rubbish, speccy and spivvy stocks other than CHP, GOO and VOG and concentrating more on quality that actually keeps me going

With no news, this looks like a round robin of a chase between the day traders and the mm's.
Often there is no market to be made, but sometimes if the mm's time it right they can generate interest in a share, especially when a normal volatile share has been static for a while.
It's all a big game with the mm's always coming out on top (that's their job) and the day traders, some ending winners, some looses.
Shame I was out most of the day and could not follow the order book, to get a better picture.

Greekman-I thought Stanelco was a SETS stock and was thereby governed by the order book or are MM's able to manipulate this as well?

Hi all and" the close ones".Been traveling today and the only mention of SEO I found was in todays issue of Shares(passes the time at Term. 1).They did a feature on FTSE Fledgling and comment on SEO was {......Greenseal ....has great potential....But management is slow to turn interest into sales......shares are now at rock bottom.}No mention of other products.View Hold,Takeover potential 2/5.This can not possibly have caused todays shennanigans so either somepeople are playing silly buggers or there is news to which us mere mortals as PI'S are not party.I suspect the former. With regard to rumours concerning Starpol 3000 and Wallmart I would dismiss this out of hand.I don't believe the final formula has even been submitted to the FDA for approval yet but will rest my case if anyone knows any better.Lets see what tomorrow brings,Cold and clear in Cork with a superb full moon,ah that might be the cause of todays ..........

As Zscrooge states they can to some extent.
Yes SEO is a sets stock and although this system limits the mm's somewhat they can still effect the sp.
MM's can and do place orders via the book.
Brokers sometimes also holding lager amounts of stock than they wish can either drip feed or flood via the book.
Don't forget that mm's are not allowed to hold stock, but how long do you have to be in control of a share to be classed as holding. In control of/holding...A subtle difference.
Rules can be broken or 'STRETCHED'. Just ask this government about stretching rules.

With about 6 weeks to results I'd say this action is people taking position for March 21 results....a momentary disturbance to the calm of the SEO sp.

This is going to be short lived in my opinion.
Just closed a small spreadbet open since the 1p days and opened a small short.
The rumour mill is quiet it seems.
