THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

I watched most of the parliamentary tribute to Thatcher. It was interesting to see how many Labour MPs praised her. Some said that she came along ng at the right time when the UK was in a mess and ungovernable. Several Labour MPs blamed a large part of the miners saga on Scargill and his lack of a vote at any stage. It was clear that Thatcher was held in high regard by all parts of the House with obvious exceptions.

It is an indication of how important Thatcher was, that the tribute speeches took six hours.

All,

keep it calm, obviously people are expressing polar opposite views - thats fine, petty in fighting and abusive posting is not fine.

apprenticeships
i don't think it's coincidence and i also don't rememeber excatly what measures the gov't took to encourage these, but suddenly i see Garden Centre Group (129 x Wyevale and others across the country) offering same, and even a fairly small estate agent group in the kent region looking to take on trainees

given the parlous state of the property market, the move by this latter group is very interesting ..... they must perceive some tiny green shoots in the residential market ...... to take the wind out of the "rabid dogs" sails, you don't take on staff, however "cheap" if you don't think the company can benefit through generating additional sales or whatever
