MT said specifically that she did not want a state funeral. Next Wednesday is a watered down version with no lying in state and flypast. You can be sure that if she had not expressed her wishes then it have been the whole state funeral and quite right to.

2) I was using italics and inverted commas to signify that I was doing so.
3) Although "And" is rarely used, it is used in literature, although the use is infrequent.


And "grow up" is not to be taken too literally.

Love golf rugby union and cricket. Bloody good footy player aswel. Was semi pro for Huddersfield.

Most of all though loved the boxing. Was a champ at 9.

North of england champ at 19 at heavy weight.

Loved it. Miss them days.

no i didn't ..... i may have told you i had winter fuel allowance + state pension, but have never thought of actually retiring, though i guess i now work slightly less hard that of yore

cassius clay enjoyed boxing too - fear your brain has also gone somewhat down that route! ..... yes i know that was in the best possible taste! ..... what a truly wonderful fighter to watch

it was parliament (under the last labour regime as it happens) that set the format for this funeral
that that ultimately means that the taxpayer pays for it is therefore somewhat academic - and silly, as i said!
