THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

he he, yes Mohammed Ali surely the most and biggest celebrity on earth. What an icon.

Brilliant genious.

The only person George Best comes second to.

Fred I don't mind taking a learning curb if you promise to vote - which party you choose I don't care, at least it would give you the right to prattle on. However too old to grow now as nearly 65 yrs. I do also get my state pension plus heating allowance for now!!!! Enjoy the rest of your day and please check the sugar levels. I am sure you are a very nice person as probably all on here are.

Haystack - 11 Apr 2013 13:23 - 23482 of 81564

Mohammed Al was a gullible idiot who was conned into becoming the mouthpiece of the Black Muslims. He was certainly amusing and a brilliant boxer. A genius, he certainly was not.

Cynic,

You posted earlier that you tried to play rugby in your distant youth.

Did you read "This Sporting Life" with the end of the novel dealing with the decay of the "hero"?

Any resemblances?

---------------

By the way can you imagine the controversy, if Blair dies when labour are in "power" and want a state funeral with big brass bands and fireworks. Of course costing the state twice as much for his disposal as Maggie.

--------------

Ps.

I wonder if he is developing Parkinson’s.

Fred1new - 11 Apr 2013 13:42 - 23484 of 81564

I am glad Lord Archer and his fragrant wife will be attending the funeral.

Seems fitting somehow, or other!

Haystack - 11 Apr 2013 13:46 - 23485 of 81564

There might be more people hating Blair than Thatcher.

cynic - 11 Apr 2013 14:09 - 23486 of 81564

i recollect "sporting life" as an old b/w film on rugby league with a then luscious rachel roberts and subsequent old reprobate richard harris

Can anybody help me - I am trying to re tune my TV and do not know what to do. I would seriously appreciate somebodys help.

Fred1new - 11 Apr 2013 14:23 - 23488 of 81564

Hays,

That may be right, if it is possible?

-----------

At the time of publishing of that book I was considering chucking university and "going north".

I think my mother who had on many previous occasions had burnt my rugby kits would have done so again.

My brother gave me the book and it had his expected effect on me.

Another of my lucky escapes.

cynic - 11 Apr 2013 14:25 - 23489 of 81564

3m - probably quite easy, even for an old fart like you (and me!) ..... is it your sky box that effectively says you need to re-tune? ...... if so, i think i can tell you ...... if just a standard tv, it is again simple - but i haven't a clue :-)

3 monkies - 11 Apr 2013 14:28 - 23490 of 81564

I don't have sky cynic as an old fart I prefer the radio - not feeling good so want to lay down and watch tv but things altered yesterday and I have not got a clue what to do. Thanks for your response.

Fred1new - 11 Apr 2013 14:28 - 23491 of 81564

3,

Grab the remote control.

Find menu button, press and carry on from that.

Generally, simple from there on.

Or, nick some young kid, give him the control and they will do it for you within 5mins.

But, whatever you do, don't ask them to do the same for your computer, or god only knows which sites you will end up on.

doodlebug4 - 11 Apr 2013 14:31 - 23492 of 81564

3m, you can help with a lot of that stuff on the internet now - just key your query into a search engine.

3 monkies - 11 Apr 2013 14:34 - 23493 of 81564

Fred I have been playing with the menu button for an hour or so, put in country origin and still nothing happens, will ring Samsung shortly as my head is aching and getting done in - thank you anyway.

3 monkies - 11 Apr 2013 14:35 - 23494 of 81564

okay db will do - and thanks to you also.

doodlebug4 - 11 Apr 2013 14:36 - 23495 of 81564

HARRYCAT - 11 Apr 2013 14:36 - 23496 of 81564

Freeview digibox- Press menu - press setup - press autoscan . It will then delete all of your programs and re-enter them in a fresh setup.

goldfinger - 11 Apr 2013 14:50 - 23497 of 81564

Harry im still wating for an apology............ please.

cynic - 11 Apr 2013 14:54 - 23498 of 81564

why should harry apologise to you?
you haven't apologised to me yet for false accusations ...... i should live so long; and in fact unlikely to be that long :-)
