may have a few. what is the situation at this time with the potential walmart deal?. tia.

EWRobson - 06 Feb 2007 11:54 - 23492 of 27111

Lizard. Reading between the lines the scenario seems to be that SEO withdrew their Starpol 3000 product for reformulation after some initial trials; these could well have been with Walmart. Preliminary results are 21st March; incidentally less than three months after year-end, compared with 4 months last year. That will have given 4 months for the new regime to make some progress and build some confidence. The rumour machine will probably get into full gear by then. Hence there should be a price run up in advance followed either by euphoria or despair! Don't risk your shirt but perhaps your underpants!

Presumably on the grounds that we won't necessarily notice if you lose them!

lizard - 06 Feb 2007 12:20 - 23494 of 27111

ewr- cheers for the info.

EWRobson - 06 Feb 2007 18:15 - 23495 of 27111

The really good thing is that dogs don't wear underpants; do you overpant like ours?

stockdog - 06 Feb 2007 18:29 - 23496 of 27111

We only over-pant when we've been out chasing . . .

halfamil - 06 Feb 2007 21:08 - 23497 of 27111

Eric; halfamil is what I aspire to in sss. Not a boast of my holdings. Currently worth about 800.! I have some way to go. lol

Re Asda

http://news.independent.co.uk/environment/article2241469.ece

Asda has decided not to go down the biodegradable route and has ditched plans to have compostable packs on its organic products by March. A spokesman said: "As it stands, the vast majority of people in the UK do not have home composters, therefore they will have to dispose of compostable packaging by putting it in their normal bin...

hewittalan6 - 07 Feb 2007 09:17 - 23500 of 27111

On the face of it, that appears to be the death knell for Asda.........so why no RNS?
Urgent clarification seems to be required, and a re-think on my investment.

PATISEAR - 07 Feb 2007 09:41 - 23501 of 27111

Re Asda
"As it stands, the vast majority of people in the UK do not have home composters",
-- -- -- -- --

This has been the case for nearly 2 hundred years.
Now, if people put their compostable waste in biodegradable bags, supplied by their store, it can be collected as normal by their council, where it can be delivered to a compost site.

lizard - 07 Feb 2007 09:50 - 23502 of 27111

PATISEAR- FOR ENVIRONMENT MP.

thought they had an ongoing agreement with ASDA. now they are not interested?. company should rns to clarify this asap.

dawall - 07 Feb 2007 09:58 - 23503 of 27111

As far as I am concerned ASDA was finished a long time ago. If they had wanted it, Greenseal as well, they would have delivered it with SEO long before now. I hope Wagner has the good sense to stop pissing around with Bristish companies and supermarkets and maintain his focus purely on the US. OK ASDA is part of Walmart but a very small part and my feeling is that it doesn't come under quite the same pressures from an environmental perspective as its parent. I am not interested in 100 Greenseal machines and a few tonnes of Starpol in ASDA, I'd rather have 2000 Greenseal and several hundred thousand tonnes of Starpol in Walmart, McDs etc. I suspect (although I don't know) there are many thousands of packing machines in the US dedicated to Walmart whereas, from what has been said on this and other BBs most UK suppliers have most machines tied into more than 1 supermarket which is causing complications.

I hope with the results we get a full and honest update on Greenseal progress both in the UK and in the US!

Lizard - "thought they had an ongoing agreement with ASDA"

Greenseal agreement yes-not specifically Starpol i think. Wagner has pinned his hopes on getting Starpol agreement as well......looks as though he has misfired however.

greekman - 07 Feb 2007 11:38 - 23505 of 27111

Due to the latest news from ASDA re none use of biodegradable packaging, SEO must as per LSE rules release an RNS either confirming or denying the report.
This has to effect the sp significantly enough to trigger the requirement.

dawall - 07 Feb 2007 11:44 - 23506 of 27111

greekman only if they had contracts with ASDA. They do not and therefore do not need to RNS

greekman - 07 Feb 2007 12:17 - 23507 of 27111

As there have been news releases in the past from SEO regarding possible/probable contracts with Asda, SEO are bound by the rules to clarify the mentioned report.
When they first released the news regarding the possibly tie up it greatly effected the sp, so it had to be released.
A no deal with Asda will also have an obvious effect on the sp, so again they have a duty to release an RNS.
They cant pick and choose.

hewittalan6 - 07 Feb 2007 13:00 - 23508 of 27111

Main holding gone, sold.
Just a rump left until I get some clear idea of WTF is going on.
