Haystack,
I think the whole market expects poor results as to profit loss, EPS etc, so that is already priced into the sp. I expect several updates re SEO products in a positive vein, that will hopefully move the sp northward. Obviously could be hopelessly wrong, as I think we are all into guessing territory.
If the results are bad with no, or little good future projections, in my opinion it will be SEO's last chance saloon.
(An old film, no doubt some of you are old enough to remember).

Oblomov,
First, welcome back. (been sunny yourself somewhere?)
Nothing really happened, things ticking over with no updates on anything.
Just results due 21st March.
So status quo.

oblo The only hard news in the month was the release of a patent concerning dielectric welding. See dialogue above between kimoldfirld and myself. There are 5 signatories and it has obviously been a major project preventing over-heating and the effect of food morsels causing short-circuits. This appears to have been the problem for which Birmingham University provided a short-term fix but has presumably been more intransient. The informed view appears to be that there will be hard news of progress on GreenSeal with the prelims. Oh yes, and EWR bought back in which must be bullish!
Cynic's research is poor because SEO have recently raised cash which covers research and operating costs this year. I have sympathy for Haystack's short for the Challenge - very nearly did that myself because the sp rise was premature, reportedly the ending of a large sell position. However, suggest he closes the position before it bounces off the support at 1.1p.

Thanks Greek and Eric.
I've been to NZ, greek, plenty of sun but some snow at the higher altitudes!
I'll have a look at that patent later. I did have a quick random look at the last months posts - seemed to be some news about ASDA not going down the bio-d route? Also, why the price rise and then fall showing up on my quicken while I w\s away?

Had a look at the Patent -
Eric 'I am taking the view (5 engineers are named on the patent application) that this will remove the stopper on Greenseal progress.'
The patent was filed in July last year - it would already have 'removed the stopper'. They didn't have to wait for publication before implementing the changes in it.
It also cedes priority to two earlier GB applications in 2005 - i.e. this is not new technology - it is the technology they have been using all along, the European patent has been granted, thats all.

Oblo, you are absolutely right! Moreover the first set of names I mentioned in my post 23613 related to a different patent, so complete misinformation all round; I will apply for a job in Stanelco management forthwith, given their track record I should be good at it!
To be fair to the present management, we have not had any information of late which could be considered to be inflamatory: it will be interesting to see if they withhold any news until the Results in March and not throw out tasty little bits beforehand as they have done in the past.
I envy you, NZ is on my holiday wish list and I will be off in a flash when SEO shares reach 1!

oblo Quite right re the filing of the patent - it has taken seven months for approval. It will have been thoroughly field tested since and could well be the reason for increasing optimism re GreenSeal. No suggestion that the technology is new; the whole point is that the patent covers the overcomiong of obstacles which were serious enough to prevent commercial adoption of the technology.
I suspect that they could have pushed through the first commercial deal for GreenSeal by now but are waiting to pull togther progress reports with the Prelims. Essentially that is why I am back in. The sellers, including shorters, are active and may get the price back to the support level, but when positions are closed that could start a bull-run up to the results: then all will depend on the level of hard progress achieved and the associated analyst projections.

Eric,
I am afraid you are a little confused over what this patent is. As I said before, it cedes priority to two GB Patents filed in 2005. That means it is based on those two patents - nothing has been changed or added it is merely a patent which extends the territory covered - i.e. the EU as opposed to purely the UK.
It doesn't relate to a recent improvement.
