I've been to NZ, greek, plenty of sun but some snow at the higher altitudes!

I'll have a look at that patent later. I did have a quick random look at the last months posts - seemed to be some news about ASDA not going down the bio-d route? Also, why the price rise and then fall showing up on my quicken while I w\s away?

Had a look at the Patent -

The patent was filed in July last year - it would already have 'removed the stopper'. They didn't have to wait for publication before implementing the changes in it.

It also cedes priority to two earlier GB applications in 2005 - i.e. this is not new technology - it is the technology they have been using all along, the European patent has been granted, thats all.

Oblo, you are absolutely right! Moreover the first set of names I mentioned in my post 23613 related to a different patent, so complete misinformation all round; I will apply for a job in Stanelco management forthwith, given their track record I should be good at it!

To be fair to the present management, we have not had any information of late which could be considered to be inflamatory: it will be interesting to see if they withhold any news until the Results in March and not throw out tasty little bits beforehand as they have done in the past.

I envy you, NZ is on my holiday wish list and I will be off in a flash when SEO shares reach 1!

oblo Quite right re the filing of the patent - it has taken seven months for approval. It will have been thoroughly field tested since and could well be the reason for increasing optimism re GreenSeal. No suggestion that the technology is new; the whole point is that the patent covers the overcomiong of obstacles which were serious enough to prevent commercial adoption of the technology.

I suspect that they could have pushed through the first commercial deal for GreenSeal by now but are waiting to pull togther progress reports with the Prelims. Essentially that is why I am back in. The sellers, including shorters, are active and may get the price back to the support level, but when positions are closed that could start a bull-run up to the results: then all will depend on the level of hard progress achieved and the associated analyst projections.

I am afraid you are a little confused over what this patent is. As I said before, it cedes priority to two GB Patents filed in 2005. That means it is based on those two patents - nothing has been changed or added it is merely a patent which extends the territory covered - i.e. the EU as opposed to purely the UK.

It doesn't relate to a recent improvement.

oblo I see the reference to the two GB patents in 2005 which have precendence and that this is a EU application. What is your basis for saying that there is nothing new in this application?

When a patent claims priority from a previous patent it is claiming the earlier date, for retrospective protection. The 'priority patent' has to be for the same invention.

That is, the European patent is for the the same invention as the two earlier GB patents - if it had anything added (improvements) it couldn't claim the earlier priority dates.

Still not convinced oblo. A 'patent family' is a group of patents which, like a family, are all related to each other, in this case by the priority or priorities of a particular patent document. This patent and the two GB patents are included ina patent family. Priority has a meaning according to the Paris Convention which I haven't been able to check but it seems reasonable to assume that it is prior in time. If the patents were identical there woule be no point in referring to them as a family.

For anyone who is questioning the relevance; it must be significant if SEO have filed a patent which clearly overcomes technical problems in relation to short-circuits caused, for instance, by food particles. Given that we know that there were technical problems (possibly also performance problems) with the pilot sites, it is significant that these appear to be in the past.

So because of that I won't attempt to put my views except to say,Your interpretation makes good sense and is well put. Lets all hope common sense comes into patents!

Also the drawings and descriptions are the same in the 24.7.06 documentation as 2.07, I think it is just a matter of finalising the Grant on an existing invention. Do not despair though, it means that the invention works!

I can't retrieve any information on the two older patents in Espacent, search under the old priority numbers simply calls up the current EP patent.

Suggest you contact the public relations people and ask them to confirm what the patent means - that should be amusing!!!!
