Not so. IMHO

Giving everyone shares, and in a thing they all use and are reasonably familiar with, like a bank, would be just the sort of catalyst to stimulate massive interest in the stockmarket and at least the particular bank's share price.

Indeed, there might even be a stockmarket boom as everyone and there friends gets themselves involved with stockbrokers and the price of shares in general.

Not forgetting, that in such a position, with everyone owning a piece of the banking action, there would be a general feeling of confidence because the banks concerned could not now ever fail.

And then think of all the trading transaction Stamp Duty that the Chancellor would collect

There might be a few on here with between 5k - 7k in a Lloyds TSB Vantage current account(s) earning 4% interest on the whole amount with instant access.

over the last 3 years i have posted about pension fund managers being useless .
well read the tele graph today by mr white he has now discovered what i have been saying for years .they never question has big holders in bank shares about the high bonuses and pay . any one putting money in a pension is a fool
