THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

I see the party idiot has arrived home.

Dreams your self-portrait although certainly a good image of yourself should not be displayed so often.

You should get a boy friend, if try hard enough, you may be lucky.

But, I do hope both of you will be housed trained.

Miind, if Hays is nice to you and takes your paw you can both pop along to party headquarters for a briefing, or retraining.

====

Hays,

If it wasn't for the begging bowls in the Cayman Isles and the like asking for funds from your puppet masters, and providing them with patronage you would not have a party, or the propaganda sheets you desperately rely on.

Haven't you noticed even your paymasters are leaving you more and more rapidly.

Your party is doomed, doomed, dooomed.

=========================

Actually, compared with the old "Etonians" and Bullingdon Club drop outs and failures, I think Miliband seems to be doing quite well. Again, I think he may be thinking of future practical policies.

Cameron looks like a blustering fool besides him.

By the way, who writes Cameron's jokes. I don't mean policies, mind both seem to be going down a bomb.

I see there are larger and larger droves of the ex-tory party faithful paying their subs to Nigel.

Ps.

You make a perfect advertisement for a party in distress, but you can all collect around Maggie's totem pole and rejoice. Your party is as dead as she is.

Haystack - 12 Apr 2013 18:46 - 23689 of 81564

You can't seriously be a supporter of that buffoon Miliband. He is like a sixth former. He looks like a fish out of water. He doesn't even have the support of Labour MPs. He was imposed on them.

Chris Carson - 12 Apr 2013 18:48 - 23690 of 81564

TANK - And you must be rightly proud of them. At the time it must have been hell for you though. I was in the Police at that time, so no obviously I didn't fight for my country.

doodlebug4 - 12 Apr 2013 18:56 - 23691 of 81564

I would guess, at a rough estimate, that the extra policing needed because of all the left-wing Socialist organised "parties" over this coming weekend to celebrate Margaret Thatcher's passing will probably far exceed the £10million of tax payers money - which is currently being estimated as the cost of her funeral. These so-called "parties" will end up with left-wing fanatacists, aided and egged on by anarchists and any other bunch of loonies who jump on the bandwaggon, as an excuse to throw bottles and stones at our police force, trash our streets, loot our high street shops and revel in the fact that the whole sordid episode will be covered by all our television networks.

cynic - 12 Apr 2013 19:07 - 23692 of 81564

a straight question for you DB - no hidden side i promise ..... do you agree with MT having a quasi state funeral? .... my view + reasoning has been posted previously

TANKER - 12 Apr 2013 19:10 - 23693 of 81564

cc she said it was what she signed up for and do not worry about me my choice

Fred1new - 12 Apr 2013 19:37 - 23696 of 81564

Cynic,

I agree, if it had been common practice to have "state" organised funerals for ex-PMs, I would not have objected, nor would it have changed my opinion about the "lady".

But the arrangements being made for this funeral appear to be attempting to make political capital out of an event and it is backfiring,

===============

Hays,

How many councils and local councillors are you expecting to lose in May.

Will you go down the pan with them or around the U-turn, not for turning?

Perhaps, the tories will be flushed away.

Fred1new - 12 Apr 2013 19:42 - 23697 of 81564

Nightmares.

Not up to your usual standard.

Prefer the previous image of yourself as it is more reflective of you and your abilities.

Fred1new - 12 Apr 2013 19:42 - 23698 of 81564

.

Haystack - 12 Apr 2013 19:43 - 23699 of 81564

Losing councils and by elections is par for the course. It won't influence policy, nor should it. I would be surprised if the Conservatives and Libs didn't do badly. It is not really important if the government is not popular. That is not its purpose. More people trust the Conservatives than Labour over the economy.

cynic - 12 Apr 2013 20:04 - 23700 of 81564

fred - that is unwarranted .... the arrangements were made several years ago

Fred1new - 12 Apr 2013 20:17 - 23701 of 81564

Hays,

I quite agree, the tories are like lemmings, but you must be blind.

Your government is already turning its said, previous economic policy around, The only problem is the amount of damage it has already done, by their stupdity.

=============

The local elections are good pointers to the results at the next general election.

You are supposed to have a history as pollster.

You must and been gathering the crosses.

I hope I can wait round long enough to see the next general election.

======

What are the bookies odds for that election at the moment?

doodlebug4 - 12 Apr 2013 20:24 - 23702 of 81564

cynic, in response to your post about Baroness Thatcher's funeral - yes I agree with having it and the expense involved. One of the reasons I agree with it is that this country spent a huge amount on Princess Diana's funeral and very few people kicked up a fuss about that. If you actually put it into perspective - taking away all the emotion involved in this debate - what these two people contributed to their service in public life in this country, then I personally don't grudge one penny of my tax contributions as a sign of my respect to Margaret Thatcher.

cynic - 12 Apr 2013 20:25 - 23703 of 81564

fred - i trust your last post was not addressed to me, as if so, everything is miles wide of the mark

cynic - 12 Apr 2013 20:27 - 23704 of 81564

DB - i was not remotely referring to the cost which, in the scale of things is peanuts ..... my question was whether or not it was setting a dangerous (a bit too strong) precedent by affording MT a quasi state funeral .... apart from WSC (very special case) this has not been given to any other PM ever
