topped up here yesterday ..... oilies in general are being beaten up in line with the tumbling crude price ..... in some ways a bit daft, especially with the likes of AFR and TLW which have made some huge and real finds in the recent past, and which will come on stream within the next year or two

required field - 09 Jul 2009 09:33 - 238 of 3666

The dumpers are piling back in from what I can see on my screen....love this stock...as long as oil does not plummet the sp has got to be up in upper nineties before next summer, perhaps even before. I still think that AFR would fit neatly into British Gas's porfolio (BG.).

required field - 09 Jul 2009 13:57 - 239 of 3666

Oil has risen by 50c (US) in the last half an hour, so quite some movement expected here as Afren more than others reacts incredibly on the ups and downs.

required field - 09 Jul 2009 14:19 - 240 of 3666

And now dropped by 80c....

required field - 16 Jul 2009 16:08 - 241 of 3666

The graph shows a steady rise..gentle but if the price of oil steadies or rises this could jump by 5p or so...many a time a stock can be priced up sharply with such a slow climb...

cynic - 16 Jul 2009 16:13 - 242 of 3666

though what you say is correct, that would be just general sentiment ..... i think the real action will come as news becomes available on progress on the Ebok field

required field - 16 Jul 2009 16:27 - 243 of 3666

At a guess : there should be an update soon on activities.

blanche - 16 Jul 2009 16:42 - 244 of 3666

A few very nice buys in the last half an hour. Maybe some news is on the way!

cynic - 16 Jul 2009 16:47 - 245 of 3666

i think it may be another month or so before there is anything of interest to report

ellio - 21 Jul 2009 15:24 - 246 of 3666

If it gets above 60p though could run to 100p easily!

cynic - 21 Jul 2009 16:23 - 247 of 3666

as i said above, don't ecxepcxet any nbews for another 4/6 weeks - and that is only guesswork too.
however, when we do get news, i would very much expect it to be good and therefore "helpful" to sp - e.g. news on when drilling will actually start or similar

Balerboy - 22 Jul 2009 08:54 - 248 of 3666

You on the drink yesterday?? cvinyc.......

cynic - 22 Jul 2009 09:02 - 249 of 3666

very un-cynic-like! ...... must have done that in a hurry, as i nearly always check and correct any spelling errors

required field - 23 Jul 2009 16:59 - 250 of 3666

Markets rising very rapidly...oil down a dollar in the morning now up by the same amount to over $66.5 ....Afren always reacts a lot to US crude price..sp up right at the end and if this persists by tomorrow morning should send AFR over the 60p mark....I think that's eight days in a row that ftse has risen.....what a change !.

required field - 23 Jul 2009 17:07 - 251 of 3666

9 days in a row....sorry...

halifax - 23 Jul 2009 17:25 - 252 of 3666

rf watch out for green bottles!

boxerdog - 24 Jul 2009 06:31 - 253 of 3666

As oil is almost $67 and we continue in this strong upward trend I expect volumes to be healthy and the 60p resistance will be broken today. With with a fair tail wind who knows how high this time next week?.

ellio - 24 Jul 2009 14:40 - 254 of 3666

Am still surpised this hasnt jumped beyond 60p, theres a game here, it will ramp in last hour!

cynic - 24 Jul 2009 15:56 - 255 of 3666

you wish! ...... i take it you are on the wrong side of a T-trade

halifax - 29 Jul 2009 12:44 - 256 of 3666

sp falling is it due to political problems in nigeria or falling oil price?
