I like the idea of the new thread, GF.
MP: I too had thought about attending one of those training days but also thought it's a bit pricey, especially as I don't live anywhere near London. And you probably already know most of what you'd be doing that day - it's just a matter of having the confidence to do it. IG let you start with small amounts in the first 4 weeks, and give you a dummy account before that, and send you loads of stuff to read. They have also started doing 'live' online courses (free!) - I'm booked on one for Monday.

I would also appreciate the thread GF. Toya please let me know what course is like I trade with IG but didn't know they offered courses.

Maggie, all you need to do is to sign up for it. Go to: www.igmarkets.co.uk. On their Home page, on right-hand side under 'Highlights' click on 'New Online Seminar'. It's run by David Woods, who was a presenter at a conference I went to, and he is brilliant.

GF ..... i used to use s/b, but when my main contact at IG moved across to the CFD side, i changed too.
the advantage of CFDs is that they are open-ended, whereas, if memory serves me correctly s/b is a bit like a tradional traded option where there is a time limit with the premium reducing in vlaue with the passing of time.
on the other hand, s/b is tax efficient whereas CFDs are not
of course, there uis no reason i guess not to have some of each

Lovely to see some support for the new idea. Ive got a few pals from other sites who are seasoned traders (good chaps) who are also interested in contributing.
In thinking of a start say at the beginning of September.
Got to get a few links sorted out between now and then.
Thanks GF.

however, if figures are out tomorrow and if you currently hold, i would be very much inclined to sell at least part beforehand on the basis that the foreplay is nearly always more exciting than the climax

Agree with cynic and decided to sell.
Anything could happen with this tomorrow. Could soar or be very heavily shorted.
If you've made your profit, why take the risk.

Happy to let this run higher now as the 500p resistance appears to have gone, for a return to the highs.

After the near vertical recovery from 200p the results had better be outstanding or SOLA will get smashed tomorrow!
