Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

VICTIM - 26 May 2016 16:44 - 2382 of 12628

I've thought this before but why are Labour supporting remainers , the reason I say this is because i'm looking at a paper that is showing a picture of the GMB union members protesting over cheap foreign workers . They are in protest to protect national agreement in engineering construction industry .

jimmy b - 26 May 2016 16:51 - 2383 of 12628

Fred you have a nerve calling people dumbo ,you are about as bigoted and thick as anyone i have ever come across . You don't have a clue about life .
Now when you go to France why don't you stop at the jungle and help out ?
No you won't because you are all talk ,you will sail past in your car as quickly as possible in case you get mugged .

jimmy b - 26 May 2016 16:52 - 2384 of 12628

Haystack ,if the vote is leave Cameron has to go the next day.

jimmy b - 26 May 2016 16:56 - 2385 of 12628

Fred's having another bad day ,can't get over the hangover these days .

VICTIM - 26 May 2016 16:58 - 2386 of 12628

Never mind Freda , what do you think of my post GMB , i don't get it .

Fred1new - 26 May 2016 17:05 - 2387 of 12628

Dumbo.

I would be more of a hindrance than a help in the jungle.

But, at least, I recognise that.

Again, there other ways to help the immigrants.

But it appears to me you do a lot more shouting on this thread than many others, and that in includes me.

VICTIM - 26 May 2016 17:09 - 2388 of 12628

You're not Bear Grylls are you by any chance .

jimmy b - 26 May 2016 17:25 - 2389 of 12628

Fred you could take clothes / food /money ,go and help .

Fred1new - 26 May 2016 18:06 - 2390 of 12628

Reread my post!

Haystack - 26 May 2016 18:21 - 2391 of 12628

Cameron has said that he will stay if the vote is to leave. I hope he does stay. It will be a vote for IN anyway.

MaxK - 26 May 2016 19:44 - 2392 of 12628

There wont be a tory party after the bloodletting, whichever way it goes.

Haystack - 26 May 2016 19:59 - 2393 of 12628

It won't be a problem. The party will soon unite. The result will be in and nothing will be able to change it. They say a week is long time in politics. By mid July it will be all forgotten. We will be staying in the EU and UKIP will have become pointless.

Politicians will be in the summer recess soon after the referendum and politics will be pretty much dead until the autumn. There is a recess between 15 June and 25 June and then 21 July and 5 September. By the Autumn the wounds will be largely healed.

Ten days after they return, we have the conference recess from 15 September to 10 October. Then there is a recess from 8 November to 14 November.

You can see that there are only a small number of days in Parliament until mid November.

MaxK - 26 May 2016 21:02 - 2394 of 12628

I suspect it will be a big problem.

The Tory party will go the way of Labour and the Dim Libs...fractured beyond repair.

Dave will no doubt reap his reward from the sprouts for a job well done.

They might as well knock down the HoP, it's function will have been rendered useless in the face of law making from Brussels.

No doubt, you Hatstack, will be rejoicing that your best mate Dave will be elevated into the realms of master appeasers.

grannyboy - 26 May 2016 21:19 - 2395 of 12628

Cameron WILL be gone by the 24th if the vote is to Leave, he said at the
time of the Scottish referendum that he would'nt resign if the vote was
for independence.

But it was reported afterwards that a Downing st insider had said that he
WOULD have resigned.

As to the Tory party re-uniting, there's been to much bad blood, and its
not over yet.
Even if its a vote to stay then the Leave Torys will get cameron AND
osborne out afterwards.

In the UKIP's case if the vote is to stay, they will carry on in Brussels
getting their cause across, seeing has they're the biggest UK EU party
and who also got nearly 4 million votes in the GE...More then the SNP,
LibDems and the Greens put together..

So haystack to say they're an irrelevance is a misjudge piece of arrogance
on your part.

Haystack - 26 May 2016 22:01 - 2396 of 12628

It will be irrelevant here. In the next GE voters will desert UKIP as it will be a wasted vote and revert to previous loyalties. It has been a protest party with no sensible policies.

I won't be celebrating as I want us to leave the EU. However, I am realistic and know that the majority of the population are scared easily.

grannyboy - 27 May 2016 08:02 - 2397 of 12628

I take it you went to the same crystal ball forecasting classes as the
snake oil salesmen cameron and osborne and the other flunkies that predict
catastrophe if we dare vote to LEAVE the eu.

At last years GE, UKIP were the only party that had a fully costed(by an independent financial organisation) Manifesto..

As to UKIP being a wasted vote, then YOU don't realise just how disenfranchised
a lot of voters feel from the establishment parties, so if UKIP policies are still
relevant then UKIP will be around for a while yet..Much to the ire of people
like yourself..

And I'l repeat again....UKIP got more votes then the SNP, LibDems and the Greens put together...

VICTIM - 27 May 2016 08:09 - 2398 of 12628

I see Teresa May is doing an independent review into whether Sharia Law is being used to discriminate against women in the UK . Obviously it's going on otherwise what's the point .

VICTIM - 27 May 2016 08:12 - 2399 of 12628

Is Dave's legacy going to be the biggest Traitor Britain has ever known , personally I think Yes .

jimmy b - 27 May 2016 08:22 - 2400 of 12628

The stay campaign has hit a new low , what a terrible poster going up in many of our cities ,read this.

With the immigration numbers in Brexit have the ball.

They need to get a good bounce in the polls before the importance of the economy comes back for the last week before the poll.

If both sides were level on the economy (Brexit lags away behind now) and immigration were to be the main deciding factor, the vote will be In.
The uk is not far enough to the right for any anti migration vote to get anywhere near 50%.

The last thing the Brexit side want is to turn it into a vote on migration. The latest Austrian vote confirms that a vote on migration stirs up all sorts of passions and right wing politics do not win.

Hence Nigel kept from the front line.

A close 53% Vote In is the best outcome.

UKIP is toast in the uk after a vote In
