As an atheist, never saw the necessity for funeral celebrations, or to be present at such, although for relatives I did attend on a few occasions.

I respected the living members of those families and the relatives.

In general, thought private memories of those dead was more important than demonstrating those feelings.

The death cert was already published by The Times. I guess Guido Fawkes lifted from the Times online site. Anyone can order the cert from registrar. I don't see anything wrong with publishing it. I see from it that she was suffering from bladder cancer as well.

Iran struck by magnitude 7.8 earthquake

A magnitude 7.8 earthquake has struck south-east Iran, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reports.

The epicentre of the huge quake was 86km (53 miles) from the city of Khash in Sistan Baluchistan province, near the border with Pakistan.

Tall buildings swayed in the Indian capital Delhi, while tremors were felt across the Gulf and wider Middle East.

At least 37 people were killed and 850 wounded in a 6.3 magnitude quake in south-west Iran on 10 April.

The quake struck south of the country's only nuclear power station in Bushehr, which operators said was undamaged.

There are no reports yet of casualties or damage.

Have you ever tried a wine called Pleiades? It is made by a Californian winemaker called Sean Thackrey and comes in editions rather than vintages. I think they are up to edition XXII. It is a blend of high quality wines. Some years it is a bit difficult to get. Oddbins sometimes have a few bottles at the odd branch. Majestic have had it in some years.

Official accounts show a company set up by Mr Blair to manage his business affairs paid just £315,000 in tax last year on an income of more than £12 million. In that time, he employed 26 staff and paid them total wages of almost £2.3 million.
