Enjoy your skiing - but keep an eye on the news issued on the 21st March!!

Can't you see what is developing?

They do not need to let us know of everything that is actually happening - would you?

oblomov - 11 Mar 2007 09:47 - 23879 of 27111

Hi Q -

enjoy the skiing. Apologies to others for going OT, but not much (good)to say about SEO at the moment so I'll keep off that subject so as not to harm the sensitiviies of some here!.

I got back from Zermatt yesterday - back out there next week. Excellent conditions, good off-piste. Prince William (and friends) was there all week on his hols. Decent skier. Not as good as us though, Q!

Garbyle, sorry meant to say Starpol 3000,believe this can be made into a clear film, unlike 2000 which is opaque.

garyble - 12 Mar 2007 10:53 - 23881 of 27111

No probs Mad Pad, thought that might have been the case!

hewittalan6 - 12 Mar 2007 12:44 - 23882 of 27111

Talking to the guy who has Chinese connections today, and now I understand (though do not neccesarily believe) the link.
The Chinese community buying into SEO are the owners and associates of a Chinese supermarket who are saying that the providers of Chinese goods are ordering the purchase of them wrapped in SEO product because they see it as an environmentally friendly approach to shipping!!
They consider the packaging worthwhile to minimise pollution if and when cargo is lost during sea transportation, as plastic would kill marine life and Starpol would not.
The logic is fatally flawed for obvious reasons, but if there is an order, why should I care??
Secondly, the debate over the 24th being a Saturday was that a press launch was planned for then. I do not particularly believe that either, but who knows.

Mmm Starpol very good to fishes.

oblomov - 12 Mar 2007 13:44 - 23884 of 27111

Blimey Alan, you dont half come out with them. First the imaginary friend and now the Chinamen! China is hardly known for being very concerned about the environment.

You're not a ex-scriptwriter for Jackanory by any chance , are you?

hewittalan6 - 12 Mar 2007 14:03 - 23885 of 27111

Not talented enough.
And I never said I believed any of it.
i am reporting, verbatim, what is said to me.
Take it or leave it, no skin off my nose.
FWIW, I think I am either being fed a line or the person saying it to me has little, if any understanding of the issues, or of those investing the money. If I were ramping, I would have come up with something much better than that, and wouldn't have included the bits about not believing it.
On the subject of the imaginary friend, those who know me and communicate with me, know this person is very real, and they even know who he is.

Chinese products wrapped in SEO's products on the off chance a ship might sink! I have heard some ridiculous things on this BB but that tops the lot by a long way!

hewittalan6 - 12 Mar 2007 15:50 - 23887 of 27111

Hmmmm.
Perhaps before anyone else criticises, it may be worth reading the original post.
Check out the twice I wrote that I do not believe this and the once that I wrote the logic was fatally flawed.
Perhaps people only want to read absolute facts. If so visit the RNS pages.
I was reporting what was said to me. No more than that and I was at pains to point out why it is unbeleivable. I could have made up any bollocks, or wrote nothing at all, just left it that elements of that community were seeking to buy in.
It seems honesty is not the best policy on here, but perhaps silence is.

Al
Please dont stay silent youre explode.

Mad Pad - 12 Mar 2007 16:20 - 23889 of 27111

Alan, in fairness it sounds so bizzare that you couldn't make it up.Chinese whispers and all that.Ah well time will tell, eventually, like everthing else with this Co..

hewittalan6 - 12 Mar 2007 16:38 - 23890 of 27111

Thats the point. You couldn't make it up. And I haven't.
Time will, as you say, tell all.

oblomov - 12 Mar 2007 17:06 - 23891 of 27111

Calm down Alan - only joking!

Mad Pad - 12 Mar 2007 17:20 - 23892 of 27111

On a more serious note anyone heard how the Proseal Machine at Hitchen Foods is performing?

tweenie - 12 Mar 2007 17:36 - 23893 of 27111

Are you back in Alan?
If you are ramping It's done with the stealth and guile only employed by the seo sales team :-)
I guess the chances of seo rallying before the results are as likely as an apology from Mr Blair.
Still holding out for a miracle.
All the best to you'all

hewittalan6 - 12 Mar 2007 18:04 - 23894 of 27111

Been back in for a while, Tweenie.
And please give me credit for a little more savvy than to try and ramp with that story. If I wanted to ramp, I am sure I could do much better than that. (Wonder if SEO have a vacancy for Sales Director) ;-)
Rally? Not IMHO. Miracle?? probably not. Something to savour in the results? Could well be.
If there is nothing good in the results, then with the amount of positive rumour and whisper from so many different sources, we are in the midst of a conspiracy worthy of a Maestro thread.
Just IMHO, DYOR and WTFDIK.
Alan

greekman - 12 Mar 2007 18:39 - 23895 of 27111

Alan,

Fact....I read a report several years ago that the Ministry of Defense was looking into none metal tanks. Also at the same time scientists were predicting that in the not too distant future, just about anything that is made of metal for strength qualities would be made of a similar material to plastic.
If you look at Kevlar, who would have believed about 20 years ago that a woven material could stop a bullet.
Who knows by 2020, motor vehicles, planes, ships etc may all be made of a plastic type based substance.
I appreciate there are already, none metal bodied cars, but the Japanese a few years back were experimenting with a none metal engine. I have no idea of the outcome and have heard nothing since.

So I foresee, Chinese wrapped Starpol products, packed in frogpack containers, being carried in a container ship made from corn based bio degradable material, welded together by Greanseal (SEO produced obviously), sinking and being environmentally friendly all at the same time.
OK I don't swallow your post, but as you did clearly state you did not post it as fact.
It was good for a laff though, and this post is NOT intended to take the mick, as the first paragraph was fact. Believe it or not!

moneyplus - 12 Mar 2007 18:46 - 23896 of 27111

Actually I'm not so sceptical -I think the new management at seo have many new possibilities up their sleeve! we'll just have to wait and see-not long now.

hewittalan6 - 12 Mar 2007 19:04 - 23897 of 27111

I believe it Greek.
Last year someone decided that the lead in bullets was hazardous to health and were looking for an alternative!!!
Erm, what, precisely, do they think bullets are for??
Pass the medication please nurse.
