Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

BrianTrayda,

The stockwatch should not be any more processor intensive than the old one, unless you are now monitoring more stocks than before.

Karl is currently away sailing, so work on the data downloads has paused. What is wrong with them? (I may be able to have a look)

I will need to speak to our data supplier about the GSK problem shown above.

BrianTrayda - 01 Sep 2004 10:20 - 2389 of 7315

Spook:
Stockwatch: Hmmmm - do you remember I updated my SunJava to latest version. I wonder...
Data D/L: I kept the link to the webpage from the original thread (now purged), but it's not accessible from anywhere on the MAM menus. Otherwise data seemed good. Just a shame that the 7pm creation time couldn't be maintained.
Numbers: Good old suppliers eh. ;)

Bet Karl's cursing the light winds after the last month's opposite.

Lots of strange closing prices still - Bids greater than offers on many stocks.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 02 Sep 2004 07:02 - 2391 of 7315

Haystack,

Again accept my apologies - the guys are trying to work out how to resolve this - we will keep you posted.

Ian

Ian - despite agreeing with Haystacks observation re some SETS stocks, closing prices for MM controlled stocks actually appeared reasonably sensible after close yesterday, for the first time for ages.
So at least there is some progress.

Anyway, one of the key reasons that I use your premium services rather than ADVFN's is their historical instability problems and poor customer service(IMO). However, the events of the last couple of weeks have given me serious cause for concern. Do you have any predictions as to when all services will be fully functioning again?

My reason for posting here today is that some of the midprices on Stockwatch and on the Toplists are wrong.
Your top loser is MSA which has bid offer unchanged from yesterday at 1.25/2 yet mid is reporting as 1.25 and showing as a 23% loss.
On gainers we have MVK with bid/offer 0.4/0.45 showing mid of 0.5 and 17.65% gain.
Rather worrying that basic mathematical calculations can have gone so astray....

Rgds

dell,

I completely understand your concerns and I sincerely apologise for the problems we have been having. Rest assured we are working to resolve these issues as soon as we can and I will keep you all updated.

With regard to the Stockwatch problems you have seen, I will get our guys to take a look.

I have Terminal for a week, staring last Thursday, but today, when I try to get up the MoneyAM page it is stuck on 3rd Sept. I have tried refreshing, but to no avail. Can you help? Helen

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 07 Sep 2004 10:12 - 2399 of 7315

HelenW,

It certainly sounds like your page is only loading from the cache.

If you go to Tools/Internet Options and click 'delete files' and then load the page again, it should all be ok.

Thanks.

HelenW - 07 Sep 2004 15:23 - 2400 of 7315

Did that, but it still refreshes to 3rd Sep

Spaceman - 07 Sep 2004 15:34 - 2401 of 7315

something funny happening with logons, i keep getting randon login requests, possibly related to stockwatch, someties works but sometimes just aks for logon again ??

BrianTrayda - 07 Sep 2004 15:44 - 2402 of 7315

I get that at least once a day on Terminal. Not normally from main site linkss, like the BB threads.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 07 Sep 2004 15:54 - 2403 of 7315

Spaceman,

Occasionally if one of our application servers restarts during the day (which can and does happen) it may cause your login session to be lost forcing you to log back in.

How often does it happen?

J.

Spaceman - 07 Sep 2004 16:04 - 2404 of 7315

J, its happend 2 or 3 times today.

Kayak - 07 Sep 2004 16:28 - 2405 of 7315

If we're talking about the login, there is a little infelicity connected with logging in multiple pages. Create two separate IE instances. From one click on a link to the Traders' Room, and from the second click on one from the Investors' Room. Log in both simultaneously and the results are not as expected. Something is not multithreaded properly.

K yes I have noticed that recently (last few weeks) and todays problem may well be related but todays oddities are new to me. I havnt worked out where you end up it seems a bit random !

Should add that the logons seems to work but go back to the welcome screen, if I then select stockwatch again i sometimes get prompted to login again. I have not tested all options and the stockwatch bit may be a red herring but thats when I am getting the problem.
