Morning Eric - I agree with Bosley - you seem suprememly confident - and yours is a judgement that I have learned to respect. Am topping up my ISA's with SEO shares in anticipation of a rise over next couple of months - in for the long term now - just bought at 16.9 - not a price I thought we would see too often again.

Well done for that buy. If I did as well as feel I ought, I wouldn't need to charge commissions! But its good to see the TA in the light of improved fundamentals. My confidence needs a word of explanation. The understanding is that there is some concession to ASDA on royalties but only perhaps 5K per machine. Evolutions volume projections are between mine and andysmith's but their pbt is significantly higher. So we are probably talking about 1 per share in a year's time. Its not going to surge there in one go. But read an interesting piece in Traders (courtesy of seadog) which suggests that the run up in a bull stock is in even financial steps. Thus the 28p which ties in well with Evo's 30p projection.

I suspect Timon Day's article, referred to be bos, was written before the ASDA announcement. To refer to SEO as a high risk blue sky stock is inappropriate - the ASDA announcemnent, based on thorough trials, really takes the risk out of the equation. To be fair to him, he is speaking generally about the portfolio rather than specific shares. I would expect a more bullish article next week. Blue yonder rather than blue sky?

Just dropped again to 16.70 - lets hope it stays down at this price for another couple of days so that we can use next years ISA allowance to top up.

nasty people on the other side had a bit of fun with BPRG boards this morning as an April Fools joke they posted that the CEO had resigned! Alot of not very happy people about!

ethel - 01 Apr 2005 10:59 - 2395 of 27111

Is there any competition here or in USA for SEO's technology for sealing,or is it unique and protected? If the answer is yes then I see them as a takeover target.

Share price is down again - yet no new news and very thin volumes. Fundamentals are sound - so lets hope the price stays low so that we can top up at the start of the new tax year.

Of course sods law says it will rise on Tuesday!!

Of all the shares I own this has to be one I have most long term confidence in. Have just bought my third tranche (16.25). It can head north any time it likes now.

Cheers

Well done brain I mean brains.

bhunt1910 - 01 Apr 2005 12:43 - 2399 of 27111

B2B - nice timing - I thought I had done well at 16.9 - but I have long term confidence in this one

I hear the dinner bell calling. After that its the fence at the bottom of the garden. Keep an eye on my shares for the next 3-4 hours. I'll check on my profits just before close.

Cheers

Good to see 2brains (!) making a good buy. Tucked some more away for the Mrs at 16.43p. What a one-way bet.

Thought you would be interested in the following extract from a letter to Shares. After all, my reputation is at risk - if I am going to set up in competition to Evil, I have to be right on this one, including the timing and the momentum! What adds interest is that the Evolution piece is by Tim Freeborn who wrote the Shares Play of the Week article last August.

"I think I am right in saying that Timon Days 'Blue Sky' article on 3 February was an attempt to unearth the ASOS of 2005. My own view is that that company is likely to be Stenalco. However, in this week's issue Timon appears to suggest that profits, the share has doubled since then, should be taken: 'it is never wrong to take a profit - especially one of this size in just eight weeks'. There is a counter-argument re running profits. Whilst there can be no general rule, the ASDA deal (which may post-date the article) makes a case for the SEO sp to disappear into the 'blue yonder', rather than be slightly damned with the faint praise of 'blue skies'! There was a compelling article on Stenalco as a Play of the Week on 19 August, 2004 and it would be helpful to have this brought up-to-date. Evolution forecast earnings per share of 3.3p in 2007 and claim that 'they have tried to make their forecasts conservative'. Given the ASDA comment that 'this could be the biggest thing in packaging for years', the obvious attraction to Wallmart and the competitive structure of the food supply industry, the figures could be heavily under-stated. Could we have a thorough review taking into account the Evolution analysis, please.'

Think perhaps you should spell the company's name correctly, Eric.

Stanelco verses Stenalco knock out decides

Paulo2 - 01 Apr 2005 16:16 - 2404 of 27111

Just in from Evil:

Also hyped in a quasi-religious frenzy is Stanelco (SEO). The company is engaged in a bitter legal battle with Bioprogress (BPRG). The only sure fire winners will be the lawyers. Both companies are valued on a huge premium to any cashflow that they could possibly generate. And incidentally neither seem to be showing much form in the cash generation department at all. So I am now short of both.

driver - 01 Apr 2005 16:26 - 2405 of 27111

Hardly a bitter legal battle more of a slap on the wrist I thought, shortsighted evil good riddance.

mickeyskint - 01 Apr 2005 16:33 - 2406 of 27111

Well don't you just love him. I spat my dummy out earlier today as a result of this guy shorting another stock. FSA should ban him. Blantant manipulation of the markets.

bosley - 01 Apr 2005 17:14 - 2407 of 27111

as i have said many times, its a self fulfilling prophecy, the evil one says he is shorting a company, for some reason everyone shits their pants and sells, the price drops. i bought more today at 16.45 ( thats the price . not the time. time was 16.22 if anyone is interested) i cant see much happening near future although i hope eric's predictions come true. but i do see the price holding around these levels until the next rns. mickeyskint, rather than ban him , ruin his reputation instead. everyone buy more. price will go up. his policy only works because of his reputation. once he starts getting things wrong and his followers lose money...... his power will go.
