I am a yorkshire man and got SEO at 0.90p back in Oct so who is having the last laugh now?

soul traders - 20 Mar 2007 16:10 - 23986 of 27111

Sax, that was the only point at which I was remotely tempted to get involved. But still felt way too scared. Well done - hope you've locked in some profits aleady.

halfamil - 20 Mar 2007 19:43 - 23987 of 27111

Despite SETS I still believe that MM's can manipulate. Look at last week to this. Pity the poor sods who were flushed out!

greekman - 21 Mar 2007 07:24 - 23988 of 27111

Looking through the results (will dissect later), but on first look it's promises and hope.
Comments such as "we are continuing to make progress", we look forward to and trials ongoing" etc are very disappointing.
If it was not for similar result filling waffle from last years results the future could look promising, but WE HAVE HEARD IT ALL BEFORE.
It's still a case of jam tomorrow.
Promises don't last forever. Would not surprise me if many jump ship.
The only real bright point was the 2 products on the Walmart shelves.
But 2, at this rate will it be 3 in a few months and perhaps we can look forward to 4 in the 2008 results and an announcement that the Hichen trial are progressing nicely.
Very, very disappointed.

Soul Traders, your wisdom HAS now become legendary!!

kimoldfield - 21 Mar 2007 07:27 - 23990 of 27111

GM, I think that at least we can believe them this time!

hewittalan6 - 21 Mar 2007 07:32 - 23991 of 27111

At least there is no bullshit. They haven't said anything so how could there be???

Having re-read the results I suppose they contain nothing that I was not expecting at this time, apart maybe from the extent of write-offs, so my instinct is to continue to hold unless I see signs of dumping by institutions, which would be an indication that they had no idea of the company's present position.

hewittalan6 - 21 Mar 2007 07:38 - 23993 of 27111

Kim,
Didn't you think that about WNG not long ago? ;-)

kimoldfield - 21 Mar 2007 07:45 - 23994 of 27111

:-D

niceonecyril - 21 Mar 2007 08:18 - 23995 of 27111

Alan, how do you read the ref to biotec(only 2 months).
I sold out of this for sometime ago .

hewittalan6 - 21 Mar 2007 08:26 - 23996 of 27111

Just allows comparing apples with apples.
Last years results included the two months biotec were owned by SEO. This years reults include ownership of Biotec for the full accounting period.

Alan thanks for your speedy reply.

If my brief glance at the results is right, if you take Biotec away from Stanelco, they would have very little to report. Add this to the fact they only part own Biotec with Sphere and there is little encouragement from Stanelcos point of view.

If my losses weren't such a great percentage I'd be out, but I might as well stay in now and hope they keep hold of Biotec.

I am in your position also. The only hope I have is that the institutions know more than has been released in the results. If not the some one at Shroders & others needs a bloody good kicking for handingn out 15m to get this back.

At least there is still some money in the kitty and not in the pockets.

Sweat on I think, but it is "bl " slower than I expected!!

jimward9 - 21 Mar 2007 09:11 - 24002 of 27111

Other products being developed within this division are:

Starpol 3000 - over the period we have completed the initial stages of
development and we are working with a number of companies in order to
undertake full commercial trials.

Starpol 4000 - this is a blend of biodegradable and conventional plastics.
We are currently working on hybrid solutions to deliver specific materials
required in the global market place.

We continue to develop the starch cigarette filter technology and will provide
an update when the filtration trials have reached a more advanced stage.

Now Starpol 4000 ( thats new )
What next an order !!!!!!!! ( One day in far future maybe )
Think I will stick these in the bottom draw and come back in 5 years

EWRobson - 21 Mar 2007 09:11 - 24003 of 27111

This report was almost inevitably going to be about the institutions. They have put long-term money in at 0.8p and will be content to see that management have taken action in a strategic review leading to cost cutting and a narrower product focus. As a short-term holder in CFDs I have had to come out - 1.13p at 8.02am - with egg on my face. Some buying already. I would have held on but not in the higher risk form of CFDs. Need to clear my mind of the history and failed expectations; I know I will be back - haven't the will-power to stay away!

This little piece from the accounts gives me a bit of encouragement:-

"Sealed Air, one of the world's largest packaging companies, is undertaking
various trials at Marchwood. It is examining the potential use of RF technology
applications within its group."

Sealed Air cover many aspects of packaging including stuff like the Frogpack range and other protective packaging (not that they are involved with SEO's products in that field as far as we are aware) and I feel if GreenSeal can be sorted out they are the company to help do it; they must be impressed with the idea otherwise why should a company as large and successful as them bother with it?

From their website :- "Sealed Air Solves Robert Rothschild Farm's Packaging Jam" So you can see, the jam tomorrow is there, if only we could get the lid off the pot!
