B2B - nice timing - I thought I had done well at 16.9 - but I have long term confidence in this one

I hear the dinner bell calling. After that its the fence at the bottom of the garden. Keep an eye on my shares for the next 3-4 hours. I'll check on my profits just before close.

Good to see 2brains (!) making a good buy. Tucked some more away for the Mrs at 16.43p. What a one-way bet.
Thought you would be interested in the following extract from a letter to Shares. After all, my reputation is at risk - if I am going to set up in competition to Evil, I have to be right on this one, including the timing and the momentum! What adds interest is that the Evolution piece is by Tim Freeborn who wrote the Shares Play of the Week article last August.
"I think I am right in saying that Timon Days 'Blue Sky' article on 3 February was an attempt to unearth the ASOS of 2005. My own view is that that company is likely to be Stenalco. However, in this week's issue Timon appears to suggest that profits, the share has doubled since then, should be taken: 'it is never wrong to take a profit - especially one of this size in just eight weeks'. There is a counter-argument re running profits. Whilst there can be no general rule, the ASDA deal (which may post-date the article) makes a case for the SEO sp to disappear into the 'blue yonder', rather than be slightly damned with the faint praise of 'blue skies'! There was a compelling article on Stenalco as a Play of the Week on 19 August, 2004 and it would be helpful to have this brought up-to-date. Evolution forecast earnings per share of 3.3p in 2007 and claim that 'they have tried to make their forecasts conservative'. Given the ASDA comment that 'this could be the biggest thing in packaging for years', the obvious attraction to Wallmart and the competitive structure of the food supply industry, the figures could be heavily under-stated. Could we have a thorough review taking into account the Evolution analysis, please.'

Think perhaps you should spell the company's name correctly, Eric.

Just in from Evil:
Also hyped in a quasi-religious frenzy is Stanelco (SEO). The company is engaged in a bitter legal battle with Bioprogress (BPRG). The only sure fire winners will be the lawyers. Both companies are valued on a huge premium to any cashflow that they could possibly generate. And incidentally neither seem to be showing much form in the cash generation department at all. So I am now short of both.

Well don't you just love him. I spat my dummy out earlier today as a result of this guy shorting another stock. FSA should ban him. Blantant manipulation of the markets.

as i have said many times, its a self fulfilling prophecy, the evil one says he is shorting a company, for some reason everyone shits their pants and sells, the price drops. i bought more today at 16.45 ( thats the price . not the time. time was 16.22 if anyone is interested) i cant see much happening near future although i hope eric's predictions come true. but i do see the price holding around these levels until the next rns. mickeyskint, rather than ban him , ruin his reputation instead. everyone buy more. price will go up. his policy only works because of his reputation. once he starts getting things wrong and his followers lose money...... his power will go.

from a technical point of view I can't see anything wrong with this chart, it's hugging the 10 DMA and both the 50 and 200 DMAs are still in an upward trend along with the 10DMA. In the past the daily has gone slightly below the 10DMA but always came back straight up and above it again just like it has in the last few days, upward from the 10 DMA. It might bounce along like this until the next RNS, but always up, up and up

Bit late comin' back in. The fence is a bit longer Than I remembered from last time. Perhaps EK would like to do something useful for once and come and help me with treating the other side. Then at least he could write in his diary (all egotists have a diary)that today he had done something constructive for a change.
Long term investors have no interest in his manipulations only in the true worth and future prospects of a company.
Lets be absolutely honest he earns his crust by successfully manipulating share prices not like most of the rest of us who try to identify a value and a future which looks positive.
If only everyone could ignore him he would have no influence ... what a better place the world would be.
Cheers

First, apologies to Stan for getting his surname as Alco and to Elco for getting his Christian name as Sten! Well done to 2brain (still read two Heads to my grandson!), bos, etc for buying in today: the best response to shorters is buy, buy, buy!
Have written a comment on the t1ps.com board that I hope gets to EK. I have requested that he research the ASDA deal and the Evolution analysis and then 'have the nose' to change his recommedation to LONG. If so, I will reward him with a 20 bottle of red with really 'good nose'! What did our master say: 'overcome evil with good'!
I would say from the trades today that he will get no further than with ASOS last year. The reason for the fall today I reckon is shorts that could approach 500K; however, persistant buying, though not large quantities, brough overall trading more or less back to an even keel.
It has affected my converging triangle though. It now looks very like a "bull flag" which has the same effect though the timing is less predictable for the break out. Monday should be interesting!

Eric and others, thanks for your valued input on this board. i have read the posts here and have enjoyed some interesting discussions. it is good to see a board that does not have much of the "nastiness" that can occur elsewhere! Having sat on the side of these discussions i would like to add my two penneth re todays business. I would also like to state that i have a very sizeable (for me)long position which i intend holding for 18 months +, unless fundamentals change.
Eric,I have just left the "T1ps" board and there is no sign of your post! would you mind double checking to see if you need to re-post it please, Thank you. once i have read your post i intend to add my own, unless you have covered all of the points, which would not surprise me.
I am surprised that EK should choose to "short" SEO after the ASDA RNS. it is possible that before this RNS the price may have risen too quickly and with no
"deals" in the bag it was a stock that would have been on the shorters screens, however i feel that the case for shorting went with the ASDA deal,I would have also thought that the reduction in the SP of this week has surely taken out much of the downside movement that shorters would hope to profit from.
I would like to see an "Out of Court settlement" with BPRG that was beneficial to both companies as long as it did not send out signals that SEO would not defend their patents. I feel it would be better for all concerned to have the CC out of the way as it is certainly an uncertainty for us all at the moment even if not such a major issue as it was a few months ago.
The comment in the ASDA RNS from the ASDA technical manager, where he states that they are seeing new opportunities to involve SEO every time they go to a store or factory, and that he feels that the SEO product may well be the most exciting development in packaging for years (I do not have the RNS in front of me but i am pretty sure the jist of what I have just said is accurate if not word perfect). These comments from a manager within a company who are, at the end of the day, purchasing the equipment is quite an endorsement for SEO and its future earnings potential. When we stand back and consider the potential from ASDA's relationship with Wal-Mart the potential for SEO long term looks extremely promising. It would be very interesting to know what communication has passed between ASDA and Wal-Mart re this project and whether Wal-Mart will use the technology in a similar deal to ASDA. Does anyone know if the exclusivity covers America?
If EK is successful with his short, we can be fairly confident that any SP reduction should be fairly short lived. I do hope that he is not successful, i see the shorting of a company with real potential as a very negative and destructive way to make money. Obviously we are all out to make money at the end of the day, at least being long, i feel as though i am part of building something that does not only improve my wealth but also creates employment, security and wealth for others or am i just being idealistic!
Good luck to everyone, long or short.
Nick

A really good post; good to have you on the editorial team. Do go ahead with a post on tips; I found an existing thread and it may be better to create a new entry. The ASDA deal covers UK and Ireland. There is an agent making active headway in the US so a parallel exclusivity deal with Walmart may not be on the cards - others, such as andysmith might give a more-informed answer.
In my view, there is nothing intrinsically wron g in shorting a share, just as there is nothing wrong in trading it; in contrast to investing in the company for a while. You are clearly speaking as an investor not a trader. I do take issue with an organised attack on a share which I see is what happens with evil and his followers. If I decide to short a share (not that I have done so) following a technical analysis which tells me it is overvalued, that is fair game, but these attacks are not so much on the share price but on the myriads of punters who do their homework and make sensible judgements. Forewarned though is forearmed. SEO volume has been averaging over 2 million shares a day, with the price rising with a prepondernec of buyers. A shorting team needs to sell, I would thing, at least 500K shares a day to make any difference and probaly 1 million to make themselves some money. I can't see a significant fall because there must be buyers at the support level (as shown today) I believe we only need to have the Evolution forecasts in general view to take the price significantly higher and a bloodied nose for some.
