Tanfield Group - any info out there? (TAN)

mr mike - 21 Jan 2004 13:49

Tanfield Group is the new company name of Comeleon. As I understand it, Comoleon was getting into trouble so TAN (paerent company?) took over. Since this has happened the share price has dropped by 0.25p each day for the last week or so (on average) and are now around the 3p mark with very little activity.

Does anyone know much about this company or previously held stock in Comeleon? There is virtually no info out there other than on the company website.

cheers

Mike

i have done just that at 162.5 though for only about 75% of standard stake

BigTed - 27 Jul 2007 09:52 - 241 of 1076

yes, im also in again, i must be the only person to have bought and sold these twice and not made a penny in the past... so not this time, oh no, the market can go to 4500 if it likes, but i have to see a profit this time...lol

fliper - 30 Jul 2007 07:03 - 242 of 1076

When the market turns around we could see 2 again , maybe today ?

cynic - 30 Jul 2007 07:25 - 243 of 1076

i shall be happy enough if sp holds friday's auction close of 173 or even goes up a copper or two ..... so far, a good buy on friday at 162.5 when i came back in

cynic - 30 Jul 2007 12:18 - 244 of 1076

discretion being the better part of valour, i have decided to bank a modest 6.5p profit for i still do not like the feel of the markets ..... still, would that i could make that sort of profit every day

dynamix - 30 Jul 2007 21:09 - 245 of 1076

daytrading

cynic - 30 Jul 2007 21:12 - 246 of 1076

don't be such a pathetic tart! ... you are actually better than that
the logic was that i decided i had been somewhat rash in jumping back in in the first place, so was thankful to bank a modest profit

Did they buy or sell? cos the sp isn't reacting very positively today...

Falcothou - 07 Aug 2007 11:36 - 250 of 1076

They had 12 million shares representing 3.97% in March so I think they have sold

BigTed - 07 Aug 2007 11:45 - 251 of 1076

so have i, now. at breakeven, also taken a bit more money off the table this morning on couple others, small caps, seem to drop with the market but dont recover, i can see more downside than upside and i guess there will be time to get in if the markets stabilise...

cynic - 08 Aug 2007 08:33 - 252 of 1076

curious "dump" by 12p this morning for no obvious reason ..... perhaps Octopus unloading the rest of its holding very clumsily ...... for myself, having only bought back about 67% of my original holding, may well top up to 100% imminently.

like, now done at 147

Strawbs - 08 Aug 2007 09:47 - 253 of 1076

Looks to me like it's dropped out of the channel to the downside. Hardly surprising I suppose with the run its had, and all the general market volatility. I guess time will tell if it has anymore legs......

Summer corrections are always part of high growth stocks like this. Ive set money aside for another purchase.

cynic - 08 Aug 2007 09:59 - 255 of 1076

ah well you have been 100% cash for ages, so you can run long/short models without fear of being punished by calling wrong! ..... having taken a while to buy into TAN, i am now a zealous convert, but shan't threaten you with the stake for heresy!

Strawbs - 08 Aug 2007 11:39 - 256 of 1076

Strangely enough, most of my predictions (since being dispassionate) about various shares and indices have actually been pretty good. I guess that means I should've opened a CFD account and traded the market, but I suspect if I had I would've lost the lot....... As you say. Easier to let your predictions unfold when you have no stake at risk.

indeed it is for one can afford to let positions run in either direction without fear for one's wallet

400,000 worth of orders for Tanfield's Jumbotugs division
(from the British Embassy website in Warsaw)

Jumbotugs Sells Zero Emission Airport Vehicles into Poland, Thanks to Embassy

Jumbotugs, the UKs leading manufacturer of zero emission airport tow tractors, is enjoying significant sales in Poland, following a successful trade mission.

The British Embassy in Poland played a key role in arranging meetings for Jumbotugs with airport operators and airside ground handling companies across the country. It has resulted in sales totalling approximately 400,000 of over 25 units to airports in Warsaw, Gdansk, Krakow, Poznan, Szczecin and Wroclaw.

Embassy support for Jumbotugs included help involving airports in the trade mission, plus marketing and translation support.

The Jumbotugs airport tow tractors, or tugs, are 100% battery powered, helping to reduce airport emissions, particularly carbon dioxide. They are used for a variety of ground handling and aircraft maintenance roles, but principally for towing baggage trains.

Roger James, Sales Manager for Jumbotugs, said: The British Embassy not only opened doors for us in Poland, but provided a high and extremely focused level of logistical and practical support.

The resulting sales we achieved speak volumes about the success of this mission for us.

I think the price drop is due more to the below due to its dilution factor.

I bought back TAN a little too early, but will continue to hold.
