Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

I dont trust the police these days.
Even If I saw an incident I dont think Id report it now.
Been left for hours in police waiting rooms to sign statements then find once ive signed they dont give a damm.
Waste of space.

Whats changed then?. Must admit I think youve gone up in my estimations but I think you should think more about people less well off than yourself and Im meaning the disabled, sick and trully poor people not scroungers.

I was watching the handful of protestors today. They have one thing in common. They are all so unatractive. A sort of sub species.

Alan Johnson never claimed to be an economist, but I think he was and is a very sensible level headed politician, not given to hype and from his background has done a lot better than many and not abused his office.
Good luck to him.
Don't always agree with his opinion, but he is one of the few honest politicians and is not a sham like Osborne who is an apologist for, or acolyte of Cameron.
If one goes, the other will as well. Two straws floating down a stream.

Just recalled a distant memory of the Scargill strikes and what galled me at the time.
It was Michael Heseltine, who I thought was a lying ------, when he stated that there was no intentions to close the number of pits which was being suggested by the unions.
Bur although he was on that occasion and lying -------. he had a softer touch than the Thatcherites and did attempt to address unemployment and social deprivation in Liverpool and other areas.
Also, he was partially responsible for sticking the knife in.

the funeral
never spoil a good story with facts ...... i'm afraid there is a large display of small minds; bit sad really .... as i posted several times, on balance, i don't think a quasi state funeral was warranted or set a good precedent ..... however, that is what was decided by parliament, and i'm perfectly happy to live with it .... seemingly those of petty minds wish to make a banquet, i guess just because it gives them a chance to make a lot of pointless noise

Thatcher sent Hesletine to Liverpool to help the unemployed. Do you think he went of his own accord?

Falklands may name airport after Thatcher. It would be nice if one of London's airports was renamed. I love the thought of Labour MPs having to book tickets to Thatcher International or saying I will be arriving at Thatcher airport for years to come.
