THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

goldfinger - 17 Apr 2013 17:18 - 24080 of 81564

he he never a truer word spoken...........

"Two straws floating down a stream"

Stan - 17 Apr 2013 17:19 - 24081 of 81564

goldfinger - 17 Apr 2013 17:21 - 24082 of 81564

Hays looks a bit exposed without his buddy Cynic.

Never mind hays the 6 oclock crowd (NUMPTYS)will come to your rescue.

goldfinger - 17 Apr 2013 17:22 - 24083 of 81564

Fred1new - 17 Apr 2013 17:33 - 24084 of 81564

Just recalled a distant memory of the Scargill strikes and what galled me at the time.

It was Michael Heseltine, who I thought was a lying ------, when he stated that there was no intentions to close the number of pits which was being suggested by the unions.

Bur although he was on that occasion and lying -------. he had a softer touch than the Thatcherites and did attempt to address unemployment and social deprivation in Liverpool and other areas.

Also, he was partially responsible for sticking the knife in.

cynic - 17 Apr 2013 17:36 - 24085 of 81564

the funeral
never spoil a good story with facts ...... i'm afraid there is a large display of small minds; bit sad really .... as i posted several times, on balance, i don't think a quasi state funeral was warranted or set a good precedent ..... however, that is what was decided by parliament, and i'm perfectly happy to live with it .... seemingly those of petty minds wish to make a banquet, i guess just because it gives them a chance to make a lot of pointless noise

Fred1new - 17 Apr 2013 17:56 - 24086 of 81564

Manuel.

You are repeating yourself again.

Try some soda bicarbonate.

Haystack - 17 Apr 2013 18:13 - 24087 of 81564

Thatcher sent Hesletine to Liverpool to help the unemployed. Do you think he went of his own accord?

hilary - 17 Apr 2013 18:18 - 24088 of 81564

Hope he had locking wheel nuts.

Haystack - 17 Apr 2013 18:20 - 24089 of 81564

Falklands may name airport after Thatcher. It would be nice if one of London's airports was renamed. I love the thought of Labour MPs having to book tickets to Thatcher International or saying I will be arriving at Thatcher airport for years to come.

cynic - 17 Apr 2013 18:32 - 24090 of 81564

thanks fred .... i tried to post it when at the airport, but it seemed not have gone through ..... by the time i got here, severall hundred more pages had been added and i didn't check back

doodlebug4 - 17 Apr 2013 19:59 - 24091 of 81564

I cannot imagine thousands of people lining the streets of London to applaud Tony Blair's coffin. What will be his legacy? Fred, what would you like to write in Tony Blair's history book since you are so scathing of what Margaret Thatcher contributed to this country?

Fred1new - 17 Apr 2013 20:43 - 24092 of 81564

That Maggie and he were two of a kind.

Fred1new - 17 Apr 2013 20:45 - 24093 of 81564

Cynic.

You don't have to leave the country.

Hays needs you.
