Spaceman - 09 Dec 2008 09:04 - 24084 of 24230

Thanks Kim, burnt danish will go welll with my burnt eyelids, i look as though I have done a coupole of rounds with Frank Bruno.......

Right time for me to watch a video, its just got dark outside...

kimoldfield - 09 Dec 2008 09:10 - 24085 of 24230

You should have used factor, erm 10 or whatever!

It's dark here but it's 9.10am :o(

Spaceman - 09 Dec 2008 09:21 - 24086 of 24230

Kim, ;-) I did factor 30 (new way of measuring woould have been about 200 under the old scheme) and I had a big hat and I had dark glasses on. I seem to have developed extreme photosensitivty on my eyes, wwhich is a real pain in Oz!!

I should have remembered from last year how bright it is on some of the sandy beaches here, this area has some fantastic white 'squeaky' sand beaches and I walked along one for about 2 hours yesterday. Looks like thats my beach time used up for this trip ;-(

kimoldfield - 09 Dec 2008 09:32 - 24087 of 24230

Ah, squeeky sand! Brings back memories of holidays in Aberdaron when we frequented a nearby beach nicknamed "whistilng sands" because it 'squeeked'!

optomistic - 09 Dec 2008 09:47 - 24088 of 24230

Aberdaron...nothing much around there except pure natural beauty, a hidden gem!

kimoldfield - 09 Dec 2008 09:57 - 24089 of 24230

A bit too commercialised these days Opto, but still a great place: made many a trip in a small fishing boat to Bardsey, bobbing up and down on the waves like a cork!

optomistic - 09 Dec 2008 10:02 - 24090 of 24230

Late 70's when we were there Kim. Water was rough then! apparently it's not too difficult to get stranded on the Island, now that is a quiet place!

kimoldfield - 09 Dec 2008 10:07 - 24091 of 24230

Yes, a very quiet island, you wouldn't really want to be stranded there for long unless you are a monk! There are holiday homes for rent there, they don't have electricity!

Lambykins - 15 Dec 2008 20:25 - 24092 of 24230

hello all

well its been a lot of fun but i think this place has had its day so i am closing it down

thanks for all the fun

i am a lamb

Spaceman - 16 Dec 2008 00:42 - 24093 of 24230

I think your probabaly right little fluffy one, all good things come to and end at some point.

It was a lot of fun but its time form something new.

Closed sign is up ;-)

optomistic - 16 Dec 2008 08:41 - 24094 of 24230

Lamb chops for dinner it is then!

kimoldfield - 16 Dec 2008 09:17 - 24095 of 24230

Shanks for me! Is there going to be a sale of things like the kettle and frying pan, cooker etc? Who's having the hammock?

Socrates - 18 Dec 2008 08:38 - 24096 of 24230

Lurk....lurk.....lurk!

kimoldfield - 18 Dec 2008 12:43 - 24097 of 24230

Are you lurking inside or just lurking through the window?

Socrates - 18 Dec 2008 13:06 - 24098 of 24230

I'm lurking outside, but I might just kick the door in and become a squatter.

kimoldfield - 18 Dec 2008 15:12 - 24099 of 24230

Not a bad idea, but I wouldn't open the fridge door if I were you; you never know what might be in there! There's a pair of old strides belonging to KEAYDIAN in the hammock, I don't know if he will be back to claim them?

stockbunny - 19 Dec 2008 08:49 - 24100 of 24230

Hi All, sorry haven't been about, Ol'Ma Bunny died on Sunday and it's been a tough week. I wanted to drop in and say Happy Christmas before people disappear for the holiday.

Sad to see the place close, hope the usual faces will still be around though, guess we have to find somewhere else to hang out on here - any suggestions?

kimoldfield - 19 Dec 2008 09:08 - 24101 of 24230

Oh Bunny, so sorry to hear your news. My sincere condolences to you and your family. Christmas is just about the worst time of year for a bereavement I hope you will have lots of good memories to look back on to keep your spirits up.

We'll have to open a gastro pub maybe?

Steve

stockbunny - 19 Dec 2008 09:28 - 24102 of 24230

Thanks Steve.
Yes I think you are right, come new year we have to open a new pad :>)

Socrates - 19 Dec 2008 09:33 - 24103 of 24230

Please accept my condolences Bunny. A sad time for you and yours.
