Heard the back end of an item on Radio 2 today about either the state of California or a city in California has banned the use of plastic bags in its shops. They are now only aloud to supply their goods in Either a Recycled Bag or a biodegradable bag. Lets hope for all are sakes that this is the start of the revolution!

greekman - 30 Mar 2007 07:47 - 24098 of 27111

Anyone notice in my previous post this section...Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) Etc. Presumably this is were SEO got the name idea from for Wrap100.
I would be interested in all views regarding said article.

Blanche,

It was San Fransisco, although I have seen several such reports over the last 12 months where other US states have announced similar bans on all sorts of none bio type waste.
Things are definitely speeding along re waste management programmes. This is what is worrying me regarding SEO.

We all thought that several months ago SEO were well in the lead.
I remember posting that if this was a horse race, filly SEO were well in the lead, nearing the finishing post.
Ignoring all the hype, SEO now appear to be well stuck on the last bend with several others disappearing into the distance.
Continuing with the horse race analogy, to me SEO once looked a good as a thoroughbred, now they are about as likely to win the main race Starpol/Greanseal Stakes as Steptoes, horse Hercules (giving my age away again).
Lets just hope the vet doesn't turn up and shoot the bloody thing. Mind you how long is it humane to prolong the agony.
I suggest SEO, and there broker advertise shares with a warning, Shares can go up or down, Masochists only to apply.
Well back to the Valium.

Mad Pad - 30 Mar 2007 08:04 - 24099 of 27111

Greekman it's a heat sealing process not RF like Greenseal.

greekman - 30 Mar 2007 08:10 - 24100 of 27111

Mad Pad,

Yes I know, but what worries me is that all those companies named are taking this heat sealing up. Is bares the question, ' are they interested in RF Greanseal???.

Mad Pad - 30 Mar 2007 08:13 - 24101 of 27111

Only time will tell!

garyble - 30 Mar 2007 09:38 - 24102 of 27111

Greekman,

I think the name WRAP 100 could simply have come about from the fact that it is an equivalent to the grease-proof "wrapping" as one would find on some McD burgers etc..

SEO appear to be hedging their bets in developing Starpol 4000 a blend of Biodegradable & conventional plastic.

Tonyrelaxes - 30 Mar 2007 12:49 - 24103 of 27111

I wonder if the conventional plastic element comes from recycled material?
Neat bit of PR available if it does.

micky468 - 30 Mar 2007 14:06 - 24104 of 27111

its a long read guys

hewittalan6 - 30 Mar 2007 16:30 - 24105 of 27111

I see Vodaphone have signed a deal with Asda, so in about 12 years we will see vodaphones badged up in Asda stores.
I think it will be that quick cos Vodaphone have more experienced management than SEO.

Tonyrelaxes - 30 Mar 2007 17:46 - 24106 of 27111

I see on page 13 that Age of Reason is no longer listed as a 3%+ shareholder.

The RNS of 31 October said they then held 132,078,122 shares (13.08%) and were going to take up their entitlement under the Open Offer. Following the Open Offer their holding would have dropped to 4.43% without the Offer shares.

Now they are below 3%

Why has there been no notification of their disposal of a Notifiable Holding?

tweenie - 30 Mar 2007 18:05 - 24107 of 27111

i'll hazzard a guess at ........It's because SEO are a bunch of ****** ***'*
:-)
Has any PI been able to get any kind of response from investor relations re any enq'?

greekman - 30 Mar 2007 19:17 - 24108 of 27111

Tony,

If these figures are correct, IE drop from 4.43% to less than 3% there has been a clear breach of market rules if no RNS was released. Off out, so no time to check re the facts(4.43% to less than 3%).
Will look in detail over the weekend, and if breach made will seriously consider reporting. If they have broken said rules, there may be other breaches.

automatic - 30 Mar 2007 20:59 - 24109 of 27111

i know those at SEO treat us PIs with a pinch of salt, but surely they wouldn't be that stupid not to put out an RNS when needed," ? but as i mentioned in earlier post perhaps Age Of Reason are selling SEO to buy AFC who float on AIM on Monday to try and raise 5mill, Howard White knows how easy it is to raise money

Stanelco PLC
31 October 2006

Stanelco plc ('the Company')

Notifiable Interest

The Company has been notified by a letter dated 30 October 2006 that following a sale of 85,000,000 ordinary shares of 0.1 pence each in the Company ('Ordinary Shares'), the Age of Reason Foundation now has an interest in 132,078,122 Ordinary Shares, representing a total of 13.19 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company.

The Age of Reason Foundation indicated in its letter to the Company that it has
sold the Ordinary Shares in order to fund the take up of part or all of its entitlement under the Open Offer, as announced on 9 October 2006

Even if AoR had not taken up their entitlement, their minimum holding would have been 4.4%...Certainly curious that they don't feature in the Annual results major shareholders list.

R&A would have dipped under the radar, but I believe should still have issued notification that they had no notifiable interest.

kimoldfield - 31 Mar 2007 00:13 - 24111 of 27111

Is it possible that AoR now have their shares held in a Nominee name, such as Barclays? Just a thought.

Mikeylad

Yes it was the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel. Very comfortable, still maintains the 'old style' from it's early days and there is a lot of walking if you have a room at the top right hand side as we did! There is building work on an extension which is ongoing but unobtrusive. Fantastic view over the lake from our room (request a lake view). TV reception not brilliant and just 4 channels but you don't go to a place like Vyrnwy to watch TV. Another thing I liked was the fact that there was no reception for my mobile, bliss!!! There is wireless internet if you wish to take your laptop (I didn't!)The food is good and very artistically presented! If you enjoy beer, then the hotel bar is very limited but The Tavern is a pub attached to the hotel and has some guest ales. All roads in and out of Lake Vyrnwy are narrow, one in particular has stunning views and you will often see the RAF practicing very low level, high speed 'dog fights', weaving up the valley. There is a landing pad at the hotel if you want to go in by helicopter. A very relaxing break and surprisingly the rain only came today..... oh, yesterday now. I can certainly recommend the place, take advantage of their many 'special' breaks.

kim

thaks for that, I do like to get out there and see the dam, I have been inside the strainer tower on the lake do to the nature of my work, fantastic veiws as you say but I have never stay at the hotel yet.

greekman - 31 Mar 2007 18:57 - 24113 of 27111

Kim,

You may well be right but if the holding falls below the set % due to change of holder (nominee account) I believe that a notification should still be released.
I have held shares in the past where this has occurred.

As to Lake Vrynwy Hotel, I tried to book a Hotel in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch a few year ago, but gave up after the booking agency asked my to spell it.

Regards Greek.

garyble - 31 Mar 2007 20:19 - 24114 of 27111

Still possible, but were listed separately till now:
The Age of Reason Foundation 23.02 217,078,122
Richards and Appleby (and associated holdings) 7.78 73,371,681
Barclayshare Nominees Limited 6.46 60,892,255
