Morning all, Sit on hands job at the moment i think

hilary - 22 Dec 2004 07:43 - 2436 of 11056

I'm a bit wary of cable this am. It looks to me as though there are much clearer signals on the EUR and CHF which both point to Dollar bearishness. Cable could be a bit whippy till it gets a clear direction sorted out imo.

Short GBP

mg - 22 Dec 2004 08:02 - 2439 of 11056

Hilary
Just taken a look at CHF and EUR - see what you mean. Still a virgin on other instruments but realise it doesn't really matter as long as you've got the charts and strategy.

Might give it a whirl whilst cable untangles itself from the rope it's weaving.

mg - 22 Dec 2004 08:37 - 2440 of 11056

Looks like games being played with the $ across all instruments - took a peek at JPY as well. Although $ was looking weak it seems to be getting a bit of a boost at the moment.

Staying clear - and feeling quite pleased with myself for showing some kind of control.....wont get me any mince pies but won't be paying for the FOREX trader's Xmas either ;)

mg - 22 Dec 2004 09:12 - 2441 of 11056

Seems to be some $ strength on JPY/CHF/EUR so now short the /$

Tellon - 22 Dec 2004 09:14 - 2442 of 11056

My stop is above the high so im going to ride my positsion till the end today.

Hill, Just got your mail. Thanks for your help and your kind words.

Tellon - 22 Dec 2004 10:39 - 2443 of 11056

Im weak...

with the low volume i took it at +41

Now watch it drop like a stone to punnish me..

mg - 22 Dec 2004 11:31 - 2444 of 11056

Well, just got back in from a shopping trip and decided that +120 and +130 was pretty good for a mornings work.

Feeling extremely smug - so sorry for this BUT YESSSSSSSSSSsssssssssssssss.

Now I must leave it alone.

Another big thanks to hilary - yom brill as they say round these parts.

Tellon - 22 Dec 2004 11:39 - 2445 of 11056

I would be +110 right now.. Another lesson learned! Same lesson but hopefully learned this time!! :)

mg - 22 Dec 2004 12:18 - 2446 of 11056

You know that thing called greed and the other thing called overtrading - well I've got a nasty case of both. Looked at the EUR and decided that it was holding up remarkably well against the $ - except the "conditions" seemed right for a bit of an adjustment.

I've sinned and gone short a couple around the 13350 mark. Would be more than happy - yey ecstatic - if these come off for me as well. But stops are in place if I have made a pratt of myself.

mg - 22 Dec 2004 12:25 - 2447 of 11056

OK - so I made a pratt of myself - out for -24 and -26.

Now definitely leaving it alone ;)

chocolat - 22 Dec 2004 12:27 - 2448 of 11056

You should have listened to your mummie. ;)

jeffmack - 22 Dec 2004 12:55 - 2449 of 11056

Kamikaze MG or in the words of Arnie...I'll be back

dscott62 - 22 Dec 2004 15:17 - 2450 of 11056

Went short on cable this morning after it suggested the trade on the Mataf website and currently sitting at +120 points. Have moved my stop to 9170 to lock in most of the profits.

Shame its still only a demo account !!!!!

robber - 22 Dec 2004 15:47 - 2451 of 11056

dscott, have you followed Mataf for long? I glance every now and then and have been impressed at their assessments so far.

Im still short from tues am at 9415 and have my stop very close to yours. Watching with interest to see if its gathering steam for another leg down. :-))

Neil

dscott62 - 22 Dec 2004 15:56 - 2452 of 11056

Only found it a couple of week ago. still keeping an eye on what it says and always check when the details were last updated as sometimes they are not always done every day. Added myself to their mail list as well.

Mataf predicts it may go down to 1.9050 where is where I have set my limit order.

Hotei - 22 Dec 2004 16:09 - 2453 of 11056

David, Robber - which is the Mataf site - is it one of the links in the header ?

I've been trading cable based on signals from a a pair of ema's on paper for roughly 6 weeks, with the very ocassional real trade thrown in. Currently flat after a couple of paper longs trying to catch a rebound. Looking to trade it for real in the new year after some system refinements (!)

Thanks ... Bob
