THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Sales of fine wines soar as households stay in to save money - but splash out on the plonk

And cash-strapped shoppers may also have found a way to stomach serving cheaper wines, a second study reveals.

Debenhams has seen sales of decanters and wine carafes jump by 45 per cent in a year, it said today.

The high street retailer believes shoppers are decanting wine from the bottle before bringing it to the table to avoid letting guests see the label, which would reveal how much the wine costs.

Gosh, people have been doing that for years - particularly the ones in big posh houses near me who must live off tins of baked beans to afford their counil tax hahaha!!!!!! - Joke. My friends husband who is stinking rich announced at the dinner table last sunday that there was too much toilet roll being used - a household of four, 3 men and 1 women had used as he had observed a toilet roll had been used in 3 days - wow that says it all. Well that takes the biscuit and he goes to Home and Bargain and buys Manns Brown for 69p a bottle, it makes me want to throw up.

Good that will make it safer for some, with you off the streets.

Hays,

I would expect better repartee from you, especially as they gave you a degree at ECL.

=========

Hils,

I haven't formed my own party yet, but any cash donation from you for such would be declared and used accordingly.

I was taught by my father a number of things which included amongst other things:-

(Sometimes I think he would be surprised how much he influenced me. I am.)

1) In order to be able to respect myself, I should be able to respect others.

2) Also, taught that an inclusive society is stronger than an exclusive one.

3) Also, taught me “to my own self be true and not false to others”.
(Nicked from Will, his first name.)

As you can see, although in many things I am a pragmatist, it would be difficult for me to be an adherent to any political party, or its ideology.

Besides, which party would have me!
