MELDEX. Double your money- quicktime. (MDX)

kitosdad - 12 Dec 2007 16:20

The engines have fired up at last for MDX. ( BPRG ) At long last they are being recognised for the force they will become over the next two years. On the cusp of disclosing huge revenue-earning deals with Global pharmacists. These have been hinted at as being unrolled before the years end, but may be in the next days. You still have time to get in at a bargain-basement price before the SP takes off for real shortly.

FinnCap Research today --by Keith Redpath--summarises in his morning note:-
Consensus forecasts for Meldex are 4.1p of earnings for year to 31 December 2008,which at yesterdays close of 27.75p places them on 6.8x earnings and 1.1x consensus forecast sales of 51.8m, which we believe "undervalues" the company on industry norms for these metrics..
well guys--just shows how cheap these shares are at present!..they should really be on a rating of at least 20x earnings= 82p per share!!--BUY--LOL for patient investors!

Big Al - 29 Aug 2008 19:47 - 2467 of 8631

20x earnings in a bear market? Doubtful, I'm afraid.

ptholden - 29 Aug 2008 19:47 - 2468 of 8631

Why 20x?

ptholden - 29 Aug 2008 20:46 - 2469 of 8631

Personally I don't see how the figures add up. MDX 2007 figures demonstrated a proforma if the acquisition was included for the full period, so here's a few things to think about.

EPS of 4.1p for 2008? EPS for 2007 was 0.5p. That's quite a dramatic increase.

Assuming margins remain constant (and actually with rising costs throughout 2008, I think margins will be under pressure, not improved) an interpolated EPS would be in the region of 2.7p on the consensus forecast turnover of 52M, with a net profit of 5.3M.

To achieve 4.1p earnings, profit would have to be 8M, equivalent to a turnover of 80M. Don't forget the consensus is 52M. Like I said it doesn't add up.

This puts MDX on a PE of 10, working on 12 x earnings = SP of 34p. Undervalued then, but not by much. Judging by the reaction (or lack of it) today, I think the market agrees with me.

Big Al - 29 Aug 2008 21:53 - 2470 of 8631

I'd rather see it first. MDX has disappointed on forecasts before so preferably see it up front IMO.

Intersting article on Skyepharma yesterday stating sector average rating is about 12x earnings. FYI, of course.

Dil - 30 Aug 2008 01:16 - 2471 of 8631

They just ramping it ready for a rights issue imo .... the mugs will buy the new buy note while the more informed will choose their moment to sell.

Why change advisor's if everything is rosey unless :

1) current advisor aint happy with yet another rip off

2) new advisors up for anything to gain business

tabasco - 30 Aug 2008 07:49 - 2472 of 8631

Dil
Point 1... Revenue growth in H1 2008 of 270%in line with Meldex's budget
Point 2. FinnCap and highly respected Keith Redpath would not have taken mdx on without a thorough audit This for me confirms the company are clean!!! Dil your comment new advisors up for anything to gain business is surely a joke?
Point 3 PT was the guy that commented Cannes Marina was to small to take his YachtLiner.Tanker. I simply said The Sea Princess is regularly parked thereand you could get your housing estate in that Dil.anyway I like drinking in the comfort of terra firma.when you fall over you dont do half as much damage!
Dil your record at being correct about anythingis really appalling which gives me even more confidence in mdx being highly successful.

Big Al - 30 Aug 2008 11:54 - 2473 of 8631

Falling overboard is a different matter, however. ;-))

scotinvestor - 30 Aug 2008 12:04 - 2474 of 8631

was that u 20 years ago, al?

Gausie - 31 Aug 2008 14:54 - 2475 of 8631

was having a drink in my local yesterday, and this bloke tells me I should look at Meldex. He's good, this bloke - he's the one who told me that there was a bid coming for Sainsbury's - and look at their performance on Friday!

So - what's the story? What are meldex going to go up to? When should I buy them?

pumben - 31 Aug 2008 15:14 - 2476 of 8631

btw I'm a holder however, this company has been very frustrating and the way they have dealt with any potential takeover has been very poor. I apprecaite that currently they are at in a Close Period due to rresults in Sept but there have been many opportunities for the directors to buy the stock. If they think it is too cheap why haven't they dipped into their own pockets surely that would give the SP a kick in the right direction. Instead they appear to let it drift !!!
Also what scared me in the rns describing the new broker was that it wass good at raining new capital, so are they going to ask foe some more money and hence no purchase by the directors because they know it will dilute the SP.

Just my thoughts only !!!

Dil - 31 Aug 2008 18:29 - 2477 of 8631

No rush Gausie .... as anyone who has bought and held during the last 4 years wil tell you.

When Al buys I'm filling my wellies :-)

Dil - 31 Aug 2008 18:35 - 2478 of 8631

So why do you think they changed advisors tabby ?

.... as for being correct , you can be wrong more often than not with a good plan and still come out quids in so being correct is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things imo. Sadly for holders this one I've been consistenty right on and a further rights issue and we'll see new lows whatever spin the directors put on it.
