THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Markets taking some moving given that the Dow has been rather bullish this week.

Must be the "go away in may" programme that has been switched to, on the computer bots.

Fred1new - 03 May 2013 09:40 - 24605 of 81564

Just heard, there is news of a tory revival is on course. Osborne says it should occur at the same time as the National Debt is paid off in 2015.

Mind many torie voters are exporting cash and property overseas to “tax havens” in preparation for the event.

Dr Spock Redwood and Chancellor Bill Cash are standing for leadership as a team in attempt to attract tory dissenting, deserters back to the con party from UKIP.

Seems to be another set of clowns are being sent for.

Is that the sinner I see behind the Dear Leader.

Haystack - 03 May 2013 10:03 - 24606 of 81564

UKIP is Nigel Garage. If he were to drop down dead, they would be lost. They are also a one policy party.m

goldfinger - 03 May 2013 10:51 - 24607 of 81564

Dil - 03 May 2013 12:51 - 24612 of 81564

Conservative Councillor Alexis McEvoy, defeated in the South Waterside ward of Hampshire County Council by a UKIP candidate, blames her defeat on the leadership of David Cameron. Writing in the Daily Telegraph, she says: "There is a problem with the people at the top of our political parties. They just don't listen. They don't listen to ordinary people or our concerns. The European Union referendum is a good example. David Cameron says he'll have a referendum, but no-one believes a word he says. I don't believe a word he says, and I'm a lifelong Conservative."

Lol .... "I don't believe a word he says, and I'm a lifelong Conservative."

Dil - 03 May 2013 13:00 - 24613 of 81564

Seems all parties are putting the rise of UKIP down to a protest vote.

Think they all need to wake up and smell the coffee.

TANKER - 03 May 2013 13:16 - 24614 of 81564

good bye you libs good bye cameron

the english people have woken up and having spoken to hundreds over the last week

it is not a protest vote we will voteUKIP FROM NOW ON
immigrants put nothing into the country only take
the NHS SCHOOLS ARE can not cope they go to school and can not even speak english

cameron will be removed soon he is a very dishonest person OSBORNE IS JUST A LIAR .
cynic says the immgrants are working hard cleaning cars will not earn enough to pay taxes to run the country SCHOOLS NHS they get it all for free and pay no taxes

send them home . vote UKIP

greekman - 03 May 2013 13:35 - 24615 of 81564

Hi Haystack,

Usually appreciate your views but in the case of UKIP (they are also a one policy party) I suggest you send for their manifesto that covers everything a political party manifesto should cover, from Education, Crime, Health to Immigration.

I am surprised that after all the comments by Nigel Farage that the leaders of the 3 main parties are still also spouting that UKIP are a one policy party.

As they are currently getting around 25% of the vote in yesterdays elections, I wonder if Cammeron is still labelling this 25% of voters, "fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists".

doodlebug4 - 03 May 2013 13:39 - 24616 of 81564

Dil, yes they are putting it down to a protest vote and saying that it is a one policy party. If it's a one policy party then doesn't that send out a message to the Conservatives, Labour & Liberal parties exactly what people in this country are protesting about. I'm not a racist, but I strongly object to the fact that we don't have a stringent immigration policy in place and our doors are open to thugs and terrorists who arrive from other countries and then can't be deported.

doodlebug4 - 03 May 2013 13:53 - 24617 of 81564

Why are voters surging to Ukip? Immigration, Europe and dissent, says YouGov.

The pollsters asked Ukip voters to tick the reasons why they back the eurosceptic party. They said:

Want immigration reduced (76pc)
Want Britain to leave the EU (59pc)
Unhappy with the major parties (47pc)
Unhappy with David Cameron and his Government (25pc)
Ukip reflects my personal values and beliefs (20pc)
Positive impression of Nigel Farage (15pc)
"Sends a message" (14pc)
Unhappy over gay marriage (12pc)
New party deserves a chance (9pc)
Ukip would run the country well (8pc)

goldfinger - 03 May 2013 13:55 - 24618 of 81564

Im betting their will be defections over from the torries to UKIP, slowly at first then gradualy gaining pace.

How can the working/middle class tory place himself at the side of a leader surrounded by an elete of Eton public school boys who have lived off bolly down at the bully club.

Thursdays BBC newsnight photocall of Cameron with the posh boys has done a lot of damage.

Shame the penny hasnt dropped with cyners and hays, who tho are deluded right wing nutters seem decent chaps to me.

greekman - 03 May 2013 14:05 - 24619 of 81564

A spokesman for the Conservatives has just said on the BBC news when asked about the rise of UKIP, "We must now start listening to the people".

The question is why?
Did he mean because they should do, no! it's because they need the voters to come back to their party.

I suppose that comment means that before today the Conservatives were ignoring the people!

Also it is beyond belief if people take Cameron at his word that there will be a referendum on the EU after his about turn on his promise re a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.

cynic - 03 May 2013 14:12 - 24620 of 81564

at the moment, ukip merely has a wish-list rather than properly thought out and costed policies ..... if they expect to be credible and have any meaningful voice at the next general election, then they have a huge amount of work to do ...... if they do not, they will be shredded in the lead-up, partly by the other parties, but much more importantly, by political commentators and similar

for all that, ukip's success in these local elections means that all the major parties need to wake up pdq and listen - and more importantly get their own "meaningful policies" costed and on the table

goldfinger - 03 May 2013 14:33 - 24621 of 81564

You mean the TORY party has to waken up ie, in the singular.

UKIP win over torries at general election would be best thing that could happen for labour.

TANKER - 03 May 2013 14:54 - 24622 of 81564

ever one you talk to wants migrants out of the uk .
ukip will grow stronger after today

TANKER - 03 May 2013 14:55 - 24623 of 81564
