Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

lol ok , well it can't be too hard to change the name on a button can it ?

Now try BGY in the epic field , usually I get nothing whatever epic I type but on this occasion I got one thread returned on BGY but not the one I wanted.

Spaceman - 11 Sep 2004 13:13 - 2466 of 7315

Dil, that problem explained by Kayak was one of the things discussd about a year ago, it could be improved just by renaming the option, simple but it has not been done. The ADVFN search has almost no options at all, at least the MAM one has a few. Both are very poor in my view, but searching and indexing does use a lot of computer resource so I guess neither is likely to do anything about it.

MightyMicro - 11 Sep 2004 18:58 - 2467 of 7315

OK, I suppose that I'd better own up.

The search facility was added quite late to the BB software and there were a number of proposals to finish it properly but it got pushed down the stack of things to do by other enhancements.

Of course, a Mr Bullshare of this parish is the authority for what gets done and when, mainly because he pays for it. And he may welcome the opportunity to shut Dil up as well (fat chance :)

Dil personally I think you must be sad if you put your own name in to search for your own postings:-) but JT is back Tuesday so lets take a look at the search function then :-)

Martini - 11 Sep 2004 20:38 - 2469 of 7315

and dont forget the case sensitive epic search

Kayak - 11 Sep 2004 21:54 - 2470 of 7315

MM, I'm sure you can change the label on the search page from Started by to Posted by for free. Go on, just think of the kudos :-)

Seymour Clearly - 12 Sep 2004 23:13 - 2471 of 7315

I've just been (trying) to use the search facility to search for the epic ARU. Nothing came up, so tried SIPP which I know has an existing thread. In lower case nothing came up. In upper case I got one thread started by Jeffmack, but there is another thread started by Bones which has loads of posts and is near the top so very surprised that it didnt show up at all.

I do feel that a usable search facility is an essential research tool, and would also reduce multiple postings on the same epic.

Time to come clean folks. Do you intend to have a proper search facility or not - and shouldn't the search input page have a warning to say that it is not accurate at the moment?

I understand the issues but it would be nice to know where we stand.

Seymour,

As Mike said, as soon as JT is back in on Tuesday, we will take a look at this.

Yippppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Can I suggest that search by epic be first priority then search by "Dil" second:-)

Cheers guys,

Spaceman - 13 Sep 2004 11:07 - 2474 of 7315

How about the default being that anything that includes Dil is left out of any search? ;-)

Might as well leave me out as well, I never have anything useful to say.

Right back to further detailed shed investigations.

Dil - 13 Sep 2004 15:04 - 2475 of 7315

Could we have the buttons in Welsh please ?

MightyMicro - 13 Sep 2004 18:34 - 2476 of 7315

Dil: Bog off :)

Dil - 13 Sep 2004 19:37 - 2477 of 7315

In the good old days we would have set fire to your cottage for having an attitude like that :-)

Exotoxin - 13 Sep 2004 19:48 - 2478 of 7315

Are the charts meant to look wrong?

graph.php?startDate=13%2F08%2F04&period=

IanT(MoneyAM) - 14 Sep 2004 07:18 - 2479 of 7315

Exotoxin,

I will get the tech guys to take a look.

Ian

Kayak - 14 Sep 2004 08:09 - 2480 of 7315

A ftse streaming chart started at around 7.40 initially displayed last night's chart, which is great, but it never cleared at 8.00 before the new points started being plotted so the chart became a mixture of the old and new points.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 14 Sep 2004 08:11 - 2481 of 7315

Kayak,

I will get the guys to take a look.

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 14 Sep 2004 08:13 - 2482 of 7315

Kayak,

It seems fine now - can you refresh this to check I will get the guys to see if they can find out what was wrong.

Ian

Kayak - 14 Sep 2004 08:17 - 2483 of 7315

yes it was fine on refresh, the problem was just that it didn't handle the crossover to the new day.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 14 Sep 2004 08:17 - 2484 of 7315

Thanks Kayak,

I will pass that onto JT.
